Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship update at IAC 2023 – Starlink launches, booster catches and Mars!

Elon Musk is hopeful SpaceX will launch Starlink satellites using Starship in 2024 along with attempting to catch the Super Heavy booster and spacecraft with the launch tower’s mechanical arms. He also gives a “3 to 4 year” estimate for a Starship landing on Mars.

Musk delivered the update during the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) on Oct. 5, 2023.

  1. Love what SpaceX is doing. Simply Brilliant. Maybe it would be best to place the Starship booster recovery pad a short distance away from the launchpad in case things don't go as planned. Don't want to damage the actual launchpad if the recovery goes bad.
