No, AI DAY should not be more like an Apple presentation. AI DAY is ostensibly primarily for attracting the best engineers to apply to the company. Floating info and hype out there to the public is secondary. Engineers want details. They want the tech. They do not want hype and flash and marketing. This event is exactly what its intended audience wants.

Boston Dynamics Atlas robot is more like 750k USD so they are not very comparable. The Tesla Optimus is closer to 75k USD. At about 1/10th the cost it fits a different market. Keep in mind the Boston Dynamics Spot is about 75k USD while the Chinese Unitree robot dogs range around 3-30k USD.

There's 0 infrastructure for an autonomous car,s they need sensors on every car, road, surroundings, and a super-fast network so cars could communicate. What they are talking about is marketing and only entry-level solutions. What they are showing in the presentation would make my Grand Turismo game more fun, that's about it.
