This challenge looks interesting due to being forced to use different things you’d never consider, but it looks so inconvenient and absolutely demented to play, can’t wait for part 2
i undestand if you wouldn't do it because of the challenge being too similar, but maybe once you are done with this run, you could try an "reverse" one, where the forbiden item become allowed and vice versa ? i think it would be interesting to see the other side of the coin.
For your rules over allowing 50% allowed crafted items, its a good choice. I dont think watching you di a playthrough without progressing much or nit beibg able to use interesting ideas would just take away from the charm. As for the shimmer thing, youre not crafting items with it youre destroying items sooooo It could be an easy exception. And i think the novelty of using weird tools and shimmer would make up for having a slightly more loose ruleset
Ooh. I can feel my old 1.2 knowledge comming back to me… All those possibilities for new equipment, but so few viable options… feels like my first playthrough all over again. Wierd seeing it from this perspective.
Actually you can craft beds per your own rules assuming that exactly 50% of components being allowed is permissible (That line in the spreadsheet "Ideally get it as close to 50% is possible" suggests that it is). While the sawmill is banned, not every bed is crafted at a sawmill. The living wood bed for example could be the easiest bed to obtain if you're able to track down a living loom. If your world for whatever reason doesn't have one then neither the solidifier or slime blocks or the resulting slime bed are banned. If I've misinterpreted the crafting rules you're still not completely out of luck. Only the pink version of the dungeon bed is banned and your dungeon is blue so you can just steal one from your dungeon.
I also noticed that the apprentice and master baits are allowed. It'd take an ungodly amount of luck but with enough worms from cans you might be able to achieve bait self-sufficiency off of biome crates (Gold and platinum crates are both banned, go figure.) and angler quests. However, of the three fishing potions of course you had to roll "NO" on the sonar potion and only the sonar potion. Even worse is that while the tackle bag is allowed all three of its components have rolled "NO". So fishing… technically viable but the odds are comically stacked against you.
Explosives will destroy meteorite & hellstone in hardmode at least.
the best part of this was how you only got rid of 50% of items yet most sub pools of items were getting hit with 75% of them missing.
Couldn't you craft ice torches?
what counts as "using" an item exactly? cool video idea btw

WoS the only person to ever use Restoration Potions
I think that 50% of a recipe being "yes" should mean that it's a yes

I like the crafting compromise, I feel like it’s a reasonable solution in line with this challenge theme. Good luck, WoS.

16:35 Lunatic cultist treasure bag?
I would be interested in part two!
Ah, clockwork assault rifle my beloved. Hardmode is hard, but your steadfast rhythm carries me through whenever I'm lucky enough to hear it.
Would love to see you continue this into hardmode! Hopefully it won't be tooo annoying hehe
iirc Ancient Cobalt and Jungle count as the same for set bonus purposes, so might be good to cross-check those two?
Your videos are always so realaxing to watch
maybe use the autotrash mod to get rid of some items that aren't allowed and aren't materials
Definitely would like to see a hardmode runthrough of this
Why does your moon look like that at 2:45 :0
