Synod on Synodality: What's the Point? | The Download

Lexington’s Bp. John Stowe regurgitates talking points.

Bishop John Stowe of Lexington, Kentucky, recently wrote a piece trumpeting synodality and the alleged successes of Pope Francis’ papacy. In this episode of The Download, hosts Bradley Eli, Kyle Kopy, Christine Niles and Nick Wylie are joined by reporter Dr. William Mahoney to discuss Bp. Stowe’s strange theology. The hosts also discuss numerous concerns about the synodal process.

  1. Vatican II was an Ecumenical Council, but it declared no new dogmas. So V2 documents are not infallible. Only dogmas, ex cathedra defined for the entire Church, on faith or morals, are eligible for infallibility.

  2. Sinful bishops are neither "feminized" nor "effeminate" nor "feminine." Sinful bishops are 100% MALE. Sinful bishops are not anything like women; they are not "feminine" nor "feminized" nor "effeminate." M.V. egotistically presumes masculine = good and feminine = bad. That's why he calls sinful males "effeminized" or "effeminate." False. Bishops are MALE, 100% MALE, and the bishops are mostly sinful: prideful, greedy, lustful, gluttonous, slothful, envious, and wrathful. There is nothing "feminized" nor "effeminate" nor "feminine" about the 7 deadly sins.

  3. If you show up you're gonna have to listen to all the garbage that they want to push on the church….All the people that show up are people stuck in the 60's and I never seen them in church outside of the meetings and a few times in mass around the times of the synod meetings….rest assured, they already lost, keep praying and make your path to heaven straight and I hope to see ya'll there one day. Ave Maria!

  4. Cupich also made negative comments about adoration. It appears there are multiple bishops and priests who have a problem with adoration. Thats their next goal.

  5. I'm a female and when I hear sinful priests described as "effeminate " , it makes me sad and angry. Are women the only ones who sin? If someone sins, they're sinners, male and female.
