  2. Been waiting so long for this… call me crazy, but I hope they keep the music similar to the originals by only sounding during events or randomly throughout the map. There was something about hearing all the ambient sounds and then hearing the music chime in for 15 seconds or so when you see the first alien etc.

  3. Technically Flashback was on consoles (SNES & Genesis), Apple Mac, Amiga & IBM compatible PCs. Also, there already was a sequel called Fade to Black released in 1995.

  4. awesome, i remember running to my local rack and sack grocery as a kid with 50 cents in my pocket to rent the original for my sega genesis. i don't remember the story really well other than he lost his memory maybe but i do remember it was hard and the graphics were groundbreaking. definitely gonna pick this one up and the original if it doesnt come with it.

  5. I don't want to judge this too early especially since all of these shots are far away and obscured by effects, but I don't think they know what made Flashback iconic. For me it was much more of a visual thing with the cool rotoscoping combined with the music and sound effects.

The remake fell flat by sucking the unique vibe out of it, and the sequel called "Fade to Black" on PS1 didn't translate well into 3D. I just kinda wish they tried to keep the style unique. I'm not saying keep it rotoscoped, but maybe cel shading or a retrowave vibe to it. Anything other than just generic sci-fi.

  6. Oh man, such high hopes for this. I though it was going to be in a similar vein to the original. A pixel art masterpiece without the memory constraints of yesteryear. Instead we have this, it looks like a clunky 3D piece of shit with robot 90s style 3D animation. I'll wait until I see more before totally writing this off but it looks like they have no idea what made the original game unique. Such a let down, such a let down…
