Inspired by Bafael’s Bad Balance series, I wanted to explore what makes Lab Coat 21’s Photon Pulse so good and why we’re going to be seeing it a lot.
Currently, DBFZ’s publisher, Bandai Namco, and developer, Arc System Works, have been silent as to future support for the game after the World Tour Finals for 2022 were cancelled. With no news of future updates, we are left in a possible state where most competitive play is going to revolve around this one super, as seen at Bum’s Birthday Bash.
I think it’s more important to get the developer and/or publisher to reestablish communications with the active community Dragon Ball FighterZ has to let us know if the game is going to continue getting more support, so that instead of various communities taking their own measures, we can instead give feedback to the people who have the ability to rebalance the game to be more fun and diverse.
This video goes over what makes Android 21 (Lab Coat)’s Photon Pulse a meta defining move that is going to boil down most competitive teams into the same game plan and flow chart while also making the game more frustrating for some to play due to the lack of counter play to it.
There’s a great concept for a character her, just executed too strongly for the game’s health. A few possible tweaks to the move are all that is needed to, a few of them I give highlight to in this video.
Share this video to Bandai Namco and Arc Sys’s twitter as we continue to ask for communication. We love this game and want to see more support for it, especially with the precarious place it currently is in.

All of the aforementioned ideas are good. I'm a fan of the "defend the castle" strat here.
I think that moving the Debuff over to her level 3 is the way to go. It adds a real cost to setting up the Debuff, maintains the gameplan of keeping her offscreen as a Win Condition, and due to her weak level 3 Okizeme compared to other characters, it creates a strategic decision about whether the mix or the Debuff is more important.
