  1. As for your take on Remakes I have to say that it depends on the remake and the original on wether I like it or not.

Like I will be honest the original DeS doesn't look that great imo. I mean I am not a fan of the green filter and kinda cartoonish artstyle at times (like the tutorial boss for example honestly just looks goofy to me). Furthermore the lack of QoL features like omni directional rolling etc. also would greatly dampen my enjoyment.

Actually even the remake unfortunatly missed alot of oppurtunities to greatly overhaul everything in general and as it stands it's the second worst Soulsborne game imo, mostly because they stayed too close to the original in terms of gameplay and level design.

Anyways the real issue is that many games from the 7th console gen and downward that get remakes are not easily accessible these days.

Also you did mention the OoT remake and I want to give my opinion on this, since I recently had a conversation about the original on Reddit that I believe is relevant here.

Arguably the OoT remake looks pretty much exactly like the original was intended to look, because the artstyle, colors and most of the atmosphete match the old artwork and it also overhauled it's major flaws (like opening the menu everytime to switch to iron boots). Still I do agree that the look and atmosphere of the original are "better" or rather unique. In my conversation on Reddit I made the point that the muddy textures and overall staged lighting are the reason many early 3D games and esoacially N64 games have that unique atmosphete to them and many people agreed with my take.

So yeah the OoT remake is still great, however the original still offers a unique experience, which is not an issue because the original is still easily accessible.

Really the industry needs to adept the habit to modernize more originals with simple remasters or rereleases and then remake games.

  2. All the lore YouTubers from ER lore are wrong Rata, ESPECIALLY Tarnished Archeologist. For one, he speaks of the Greattree as if it were a separate entity when in game the Erdtree is referred to as the Great Tree (Finger Reader Crone at the outskirts of the capital, first breached wall)

  3. I've never played a game like this particular one with mechs and I know it's different from Dark Souls but I watch this gameplay and I see so many connections to those series that I get the feeling it's souls-like. Really like it. Let's hope optimization is at a higher level than it was for the first year in Elden Ring.
A question from a rookie who knows nothing about these games. Are there live pilots in these mechs? And does it make any difference if they are inside?
Maybe these mechs are remotely controlled like drones? Or maybe they are artificial intelligence?

  4. oroboro confirmed the hard lockon can be broken by the enemy if they are fast enough or by the player's movement, the lore hunter during his footage with the boss shows his hard lock was getting broken a few times https://youtu.be/JeYm_iIm0xc?t=661 and also here's a great example https://youtu.be/JeYm_iIm0xc?t=744 so while a lock on is in the game, it's clear it's not a sticky lock like vaati was suggesting, i think he even said something along the lines that unless it's due to distance, the lock on can not be broken

  5. EDIT: This is way longer than I wanted, but I promise it CAN be simplified more without explaining things as much as I do. TLDR; Marika decides that the Greater Will is flawed, sets a plot in motion to make her lineage choose a new God, destroys the Elden Ring to set it in motion, tarnished are TGW's backup plan but its a trap, they realize, you triumph anyway with help from the plotters & more, and in all but 1 ending TGW "loses".

On the Elden Ring bit, the overall story is that Marika/Radagon served the Greater Will (A god) unquestioning for most of her life; when she arrived in The Lands Between & "settled down" per-se after conquering (this is the coveted land gods fight over; the erdtrees are the key), she sought internal answers as to why and what the Greater Will was after. That and, why she was serving them. In the end, she determined that the Greater Will was not ideal & wanted to hoist up a new god. From her lineage specifically, she really doesn't care too much – any of her Demigod children will do IF their conviction is strong enough & any of the gods they follow is fine. First, the Tarnished are banished including the first elden lord. The Tarnished are… the end-game for both Marika & the Greater Will.

Thus starts the grand plot; the concept of Death is sealed away to give the demigods immortality, so that has to be resolved. Marika betrays her guardian, Maliketh, and a little bit of Death is stolen. This is given to 2 individuals: her Daughter, Ranni & Praetor Rykard (as a backup option, to defend against Maliketh). Ranni is chosen because she is… something. Godwyn is, at the end of the day, not of the stuff that Marika seeks – despite his conquers and shit. So basically, he's the LEAST worthy demigod and thus the one who must be sacrificed. Specifically because Fate has been "stopped" and someone outside of Fate has to be created (Ranni's living spirit but dead body, and once the stars are in motion). The night of black knives commences, as the Numen are the people OF Marika, where she originally came from. Most of them still obey TGW in the end but for now a bunch of them assist Marika & Ranni. Death is introduced to the Demigods via Godwyn, Marika/Radagon shatters the Elden Ring (disrupting and fully setting everything in motion), war & chaos ensues, etc.

Keep in mind the whole time the Greater Will has no real idea why or what is going on, and seeks to figure out why Marika shattered the Elden Ring. They know she did it, but don't know why, and their current priority is to restore the Elden Ring. Also keep in mind that by default, Marika/Radagon are the literal representation of the Elden Ring so all TGW can do is seal them. Then destroy them, and rebuild. Keep in mind that the Elden Ring/Golden Order essentially embody the laws of the world, and those being fragmented not only causes anomalies but also means TGW has less & less control. After all, all but two of the Two Fingers (that which TGW communicates to people with, beyond Marika) are… dead. Only the one Ranni has hidden and will kill later, and the one in the Round Table remain, basically. Communication also takes ages.

Chaos commences, every demigod has their priorities. Morgott was shunned, but still remains faithful & defends the erdtree, Mohg seeks to create a new god by other means & become their elden lord, Malenia waits after her brother is stolen and their attempt at becoming a new god fails, Ranni & her followers continue the original plan… and lastly, Melania waits to push everything forwards.

The Greater Will has no other option but to use what's available: An outside party they can manipulate, and the option is the exiled Tarnished. Reintroduced & guided by fellow Tarnished, they have one goal: fix the Elden Ring & become Elden Lord. To do so, Tarnished have to be raised to pass their own defenses – fragments of the Elden Ring, Morgott, etc. Melania pushes the player forwards, and the Ranni route is Marikas full plot to completion, while the Chaos route is the opposite… usurping all plans from everyone. Everything proceeds as planned BY the Greater Will, but they quickly realize something is wrong and the Erdtree is sealed off. The Two Fingers interpret their will but they're slow essentially, long distance calling and stuff, so they're at a loss and the peeps of the Lands Between just kinda shrug & continue forwards.

Erdtree is burned via Melania's sacrifice, but death is a concept too broad. Maliketh still seals most of it, so Maliketh must fall for the Erdtree to burn from the fire. The fire is obviously special, it's not just aaaaaaany fire. Melania's lore is tough but the best idea I've seen is that she represents the Erdtree's will (mostly connected to The Lands Between rather than the Greater Will). This explains why Melania is happy to have any ending except the Chaos route (creating one by destroying all, this includes the lands between), she's connected to Marika's plot… but she's more neutral than anything.

Gideon this whole time is basically just a big brain and eventually realizes that Marikas goal was to remove the Golden Order & Greater Will. That which should not be; hence he tries to stop you, he "can't" let her will be completed. Yada yada we beat them up, destroy Marika, fight the emissary of the Greater Will, shatter them, and then rebuild the Elden Ring or… do something else.

The other endings are solutions to the flawed Golden Order; do you sustain the Golden Order as long as you can before it must be fixed again with the default ending? Do you fix the flaws with Goldmask? Embrace all flaws to make flaws not exist with Dung Eater? Create equality between the living & the dead with Fia? Raise a new god of the stars with Ranni? Or return everything to one with Chaos?

The first is the Greater Wills desire (it'll break eventually, but it props them up longer) while Goldmasks severs the Greater Wills influence (despite being a "god" their manipulation of what is "right" and 'wrong" is what corrupted the Golden Order). The next two retain the Greater Will but "corrupt" it with values the Greater Will despised, and the last two raise a new god for a new future, or return to the "true" god at cost of… everything. Note that Chaos is in essence, the Greater Will but the most severe corruption – nothing but selfish Chaos will exist, even though they were wronged in the past to create…. everything. Hence it being the bad ending, it's like doubling down on the Greater Wills flaws.

  6. The reason why people hate you is thay you spend most of your videos excusing yourself for using incorrect terms, which cause a ton of confusion, instead of talking about the game.
People want to hear about the game, and not how you're gonna sell then AC6 as something similar, to keep engagement with your audience.

  7. Iji had to die an honorable death by black flame in combat with the black knives because he knew Ranni would be heartbroken if you killed Blaidd and Iji both. He convinced you that Blaidd was a traitorous puppet of the two fingers so Blaidd's death is on Iji. In order to save your conscience and protect Ranni he ordered the black knives to kill him in combat since they alone could pose a threat & make him suffer on a similar scale to you as the prospective elden lord. He had Blaidd imprisoned and sent the black knives after him but even in his madness his blade still froze & called down the dark moon's power when asked. This proves Iji was completely wrong and sentenced his oldest friend to a horrible death at your hands. Black flame & a battle he could never win against his own friends was the best he could do to mimic Blaidd's death. He wanted to rid Ranni of his foolishness & atone for his betrayal.
