PLEASE READ ENTIRELY!!
Filmed on a regular PS4 so I had to due some converting to get 1080 as an option. Still not great, but better than 720 at least. I ain’t a pro lol. I have Platinumed it though!

To break down the build:
Assassin: Lv 99, Tyrant: Honestly even with 30 you’re fine, but max never hurts.
Class Affinities Needed:
Tyrant – Max affinity
– Vulnerability Bonus Gives increases how fast you accumulate status ailments. Tyrant’s
trap causes you to restore health every time you hit an enemy’s weakness.
Absolute Domination turns any enemy weakness hit into a critical hit.
Duelist – Minimum 120, ideally 160
– 120 gives you Critical Bonus II – You want critical break damage dealt to be as high
as possible.
The others in the video – as high as you can get them (except Mage…that’s just there since an artifact had that tacked on)
– You just want as many of the “Class’s Wisdom” perks from green classes to increase
agility as much as possible. Is this build optimal…no, but until we can get a way to
re-forge an artifact to have a different class (if that happens), it’s just RNG 🙁
All of my equipment has “Status Ailment Accumulation”, “Agility”, and “Critical Break Damage Dealt” maxed out (except my claws since I don’t have enough material to put “Agility” onto them lol). Tyrant equipment can be whatever, you only need Tyrant to use Enchant.
Master Points: Focus on “Agility”, “Status Accumulation”, and “Critical Break Damage Dealt” (and just other break damage dealt in general as much as possible).
How it all works: I will need to break down some of the mechanics first (some of these terms may not be official so don’t take them as gospel, the concepts are correct though)
Elemental Vulnerability – It is a status effect. Simply put, if you hit an enemy enough times with one element they become “statused” with that element. An example: spam fire until enemy has the status ailment “Fire” the same way it would have poison or silence, etc). Once under the “Fire” status ailment every fire attack will be considered hitting a weak spot.
Critical Hits: They do more damage but also more break damage. The “Agility” stat increases critical break damage dealt naturally. Now Tyrant at max affinity is important since it allows you to accumulate status faster, and Absolute Domination turns every weakness hit into a critical hit…so you enchant with tyrant and attack until you elemental status an enemy and from there every hit is a critical hit. Fists are great for this since you can land multiple hits very quickly. Daggers will work as well but I find it satisfying to just punch and kick things.
Lastly: When choosing your combo abilities, Falcon’s Dive is nice for the three hit combo one (I guess you could technically use another one but I feel this one is the most effective). With Lv 99 Assassin (technically all is unlocked by Lv 30) you will unlock Falcon’s Dive as well as the “Sharp Strike” effect, which can be used as an add-on to Falcon’s Dive to increase the Critical Bonus (I’m assuming that just increases damage and break from critical hits). To add Combo Effects (like Sharp Strike) you simply need to unlock it from the correct class and equip the appropriate weapon and it will automatically be set to the appropriate Combo Ability (like Falcon’s Dive).
To bring it together: Use Tyrant to enchant your fists (or daggers). Then change job to Assassin. Start attacking the enemy. With all the buffs to “Status Accumulation” you will status them pretty quickly. From there just keep hitting and using combo abilities. Now with Tyrant’s Absolute Domination you will land all crits which do more break damage, and with buffs to Critical Break Damage Dealt (as well as high Agility) you will obliterate their break gauge pretty quickly. This works pretty well on bosses too (tried it on Tiamat, metal scorpion thing and a few others). You can always use the Assassinate ability for extra break damage but I don’t find myself using it much since this set-up is pretty effective.
Final Note: I don’t even bother with Command Abilities. It just gets too much for me. Is this the most optimal build. No, let’s be real, there’s definitely some OP build out there that’s better, but I like this one since I can punch and kick everything into oblivion.
It’s exciting that we’re finally getting DLC! I might nerf myself to enjoy it haha.
I hope this explanation made sense. I know it’s long, but it’s a fairly complex battle system and even I haven’t fully grasped things 100% (yay internet for teaching me). If I made any mistakes in explaining a concept I will try to fix it if it’s brought to my attention. I don’t really post on youtube much so I’m pretty bad at keeping up with it sometimes.
Cheers and enjoy the game!!
