Stories of resilience: The rescue of seeds and the return to the soil

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the global economy to its knees, disrupting supply chains and threatening food security and nutrition for millions of people around the world. In this dire context, indigenous women of the Bribri and Cabécar peoples of Costa Rica developed a system to rescue their ancestral crops and diet, while also providing income for hundreds of families.

Stories of Resilience is a Global Alliance of Territorial Communities & TINTA (The Invisible Thread) project for the documentation and visibility of cases that show the adaptability, strength, and unity of people and communities in the face of COVID-19 in the Latin American, Asian, and African territories that make up the Alliance.
