  1. As someone who LOVES using environmental effects for tactical and strategic purposes, I absolutely CANNOT wait for this to come out. However I also acknowledge that I'm probably in the minority for that

  2. I'm imagining a nanite empire getting hit with a particle storm, and just building a few thousand nanite swarmers to park in the middle of the storm in response. It's probably not realistically viable- nanite income/storage takes a long time to build to that level, so you'd have to be hit pretty late in the game to get the most from it- but it'd still be funny.

  3. I see that Stellaris devs and I, are too simular in the way we develop cosmic universes, so, before they add the space whalers, I wanna say that in my universe they alredy exist, dont wanna hear people say I'm stealing… if I ever use my universe in some kind of art☻️

  4. I kinda hate on the fact that they put electric storm and magnetic storm as two seperate entities, instead of electromagnetic storms. You can't have one without the other (because those fields share the same force carrying particle, the photon; a change in one induces a change in the other)

The flavour texts don't help either, where the electric storm's mentions "electromagnetic fields" and seem plausible on galactic scale, while the magnetic storm's text makes it seem it should be a system local phenomenon and not something larger.

To go even further and leave the realm of applicability to a SciFi gamemechanics that needs some suspention of disbelieve, the whole galaxy is, in effect, a gigantic whirlwind of electromagnetics (and gravity)

  5. Great video, really interesting changes to an existing mechanic that previously only stemmed from VLUUR and the zroni storm casters. I'm looking forward to seeing how they impact the new features. I don't quite understand the negative responses – we already have any number of RNG determined events that can help or hinder your systems. Additional content is always welcome, especially where it develops existing mechanics thematically.

  6. Numbers way too high to spawn early game and even then kinda meh. Also i magine this will be a pain to micromanage fleet positioning when the storm moves later. Unless there are techs later to drastically reduce debuffs thats a hard pass for me.

  7. after reading how weirdly nonsensical the modifiers and reasonings behind these storms are, yeah pretty sure I won't be buying this one
this entire thing feels so sloppily made, it's like as if one poor intern at paradox was forced to make up the whole thing
this concept should be just be a minor feature in an update, not a DLC unto itself

  8. This DLC is great for someone who wants to play on the fly. Or someone who wants to roleplay an actual space empire as it introduces new challenges. It's also good if you want to have a realistic run (let's be honest, Space is supposed to be cruel).
If someone doesn't like it, there is always the option of disabling it.
