Should you ever go to the community content, I suggest looking for a remake of Terran Ascendancy – another ST strategy game
Patriot's BloodTraitor's Severance PayLes go m8 GG M8
I have big doubts about the corporation being that trustworthy
Also, on the topic of Heinlein writing – the man was very fond of thought experiments, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is a 180 of everything written in Starship Troopers.

Let's see – game is good? Definitely. Interesting characters(director lady seems to be the odd one out, to me at least).
Now that I've finished the book, it's safe to say movie 1 has failed as adaptation, yet succeeded as satire(tho it was marketed as action back then to get more butts in seats). Book and the animations I found to be better still, we'll have to wait and see if/when starship troopers reboot(which promises to be more faithful to the book) happens sometime in the future.
Best analysis of the franchise as a whole, I'd say there are 2 – one is a yt video done by Knowing Better(something like If veterans were in charge). Second, funnily enough and despite not being perfect it still gives an objective overview, 1d4chan's article on the st IP. Give them a view/read if able.
Community content, from what we heard sofar, should be good stuff.
2 notes, one regarding Rico in the book, apparently someone asked Heinlein about that, he said Rico croaks(buys farm/dies)on Klendathu.
Note 2, sofar, I've seen only 1 movie adaptation that not only follows the book(read after the fact) almost letter to letter, it also fixes the lousy book ending(in which protagonist can't get revenge, but in movie he does). The book and movie in question – funnily enough, The Revenant(yes, Leo DiCaprio's oscar winner, that one).
Edit to add: while in game/live-action universe merc man wouldn't get, in his words, fair trial, in book one he'd get morr than fair, in fact, there's a chapter where this guy, hendrick, commit a "cardinal sin" and strikes back at superior officer(drill sgt zim, yes, that zim) and, despite almost pleading by camp commander NOT to demand court martial(reasons being paperwork, needing to be the judge, issuing sentence, writing it into their and his record etc and potentially completely making an individual resent the federation as a whole)and just make the resignation instead, he gets the trial and regrets it(rico recalls this while pondering should he resign too, in book once you resign, there's no "reenlisting").
Movie 1 did a gender swap (dizzy flores was a guy in book while in movie was a girl), which despite negative connotations we see in today's media, actually served both the movie 1 and the animations she shows up in very well(she kicked butt in roughnecks, was a hallucination conjured by carl to guide rico in traitor of mars, at the end carl becomes sky marshal too).
That was a nice expansion set on Char.
It's a good thing that corporations (especially military) being bosom buddies with governments to manufacture casus belli is sci-fi and totally can't happen in the real world…
Remember the movie released in 1997, way before the 2nd war in Iraq.
Buenos Aires Asteroid must have been an inside job, in my opinion it's the same thinking as: the moon landing was just fake. I don't think Buenos Aires was an inside job, Mars was. The films showed that the bugs have the ability to redirect asteroids. It was never been shown that the UCF government can do the same. It's also the way the bugs travel across the galaxy. The speed maybe questionable because the asteriods doesn't have lightspeed/warp like the fed spacecraft have (Buenos Aires asteriod was sent from AQZ). Or am i wrong? But heck, the bugs can even target/hit starships orbiting the planet with ballistic ground plasma weapons.
Bugs with a certainly large brain size to body ratio (brainbug, god bug or behemecoatyl) have been shown. The exact size of their brains may be debatable, but I'm sure you'll agree that they're big. At around 7.8 kg, the sperm whale has the largest known brain on earth (humans around 1.4 kg). Today's scientists speculate about the potential of the brain compared to its size. Is it really so inconceivable that the bugs just did what they did? In such a fascist society, there are certainly easier ways to get the population on track. It is the dissidents on the distant colonies who want independence that require more extreme measures 😁 (-> the Mars incident).
Welp, looks like the shady bug wrangling isn’t addressed at all
It's a little sad that we got to use the powered flame suit troopers/officer for so little time, but at the least it will be a good addition for custom map makers.
It was a pleasure to follow you through this Starship troopers game. The final with the "traitor" being burned to a crisp by power-armored brainwashed feds sure was something. And thanks for the word about this universe at the end, I'm hopping for more video games content about it with the same tone as Terran Command. Maybe expending the universe a little bit?
Really enjoyed the play through thanks
here's hoping for more missions
Are the bugs that bad? Outside of Fed propaganda, no. They're not victims either though, the whole Fed/Bug war is simply the fact that both sides wanted the same land (that wasn't owned by either side) so they're killing the crap out of each other for it.
The end cutscene is a nod to Starship Trooper : Invasion , Jenkins managed to control the Warrior bug .
Well that's it for the expansion! Pretty fun and challenging, the only downside is you don't get to a lot of time to play with the new units in the last level.
Minus the story about the mercs and the corporation, the plot about controlling the bugs can kinda be seen as a very loose adaptation of the Starship Troopers: Invasion CGI movie. Especially with that Carl Jenkins namedrop at the end there. Perhaps the next DLC (if any) might be an adaptation of Traitor of Mars?
