  1. This movie is a deconstruction of German propagandistic movies of 30s. Verhoeven trolled the audience that while you are watching the adventures of beautiful white Aryan protagonists, viewers are easily get emotionally manipulated to empathize fascist ideas. In this case the book lovers who hate this movie and Verhoeven look funnier 🙂 you just watched The Third ReichAmerican propagandist movie

  2. I had been infantry a few years when this came out and even though it wasn't the book I had read as a teen, still loved it. And yes, injuries come with the job.

  3. I say this movie years ago and thought it totally stupid to fight an army of bugs with small arms and bombs. I guess these military geniuses never heard of bug spray or crop dusters.

  4. The CGI in this film was incredible for 1997 and the practical effects are amazing too.
Also, Denise Richards is 51 and has an Onlyfans. What a strange timeline.

  5. Medically, it is not advisable to remove a puncture item from a wound, particularly the torso where vital organs are, the only time advised to remove a penetrating object from a puncture wound is the people removing said item are equipped and sufficiently trained to administer life saving care or when surgery is immediately available.

  7. This is one of the few movies where the special effects still actually hold up a bit. The practical effects were obviously great but even the CGI still holds up without being too jarring.

  8. This movie is often completely misunderstood. What the movie was showing is the way government s use propaganda. The movie doesn't take its self seriously but they to convey for you to THINK FOR YOURSELF. But when it was released the critics hated it and tried saying it was just a recruiting film.

  9. So many movies made today wish their SFX/VFX looked one tenth as good as the ones in this movie. There truly is no replacement for passion and effort!
Edit: Also, the supporting cast is phenomenal! Not that the main cast is bad, they're just literally cast and written to be bland and not necessarily even likeable

  10. What I feel this movie needed was Arnie as a soldier with a larger than normal gun, and for them to bring Kurtwood Smith from Robocop as Rico's dad. That would have been epic.
