  1. ive been in forum threads regarding various tags, and there arr people that would argue against more specific tags just because it would be redundant inspite the given tag is bloated with things not fitting to the intended genre

  2. tried temtem, first hour is just walking from trainer to trainer. Like a pokemon route has some trainers, now just do that for an entire hour as your intro to the game. That not great first impression mixed with all the controversy surrounding it yeah I just noped right out and refunded.

  3. Rune factory 5 is a great game, though monster taming is only a part of it, kinda like dragon quest 5, but you can tame all the monsters including bosses.
It's a solo game and you can get overpowered easily if you use the mechanics cleverly.
Imo the best thing is that everything you do is making your character better, watering plants makes your water affinity and thus water spells more powerful.
Basically if you want a stardew valley but with more rpg combat and rideable tamed monsters, it's probably a good pick

  4. I don't think you've talked about it, but patch quest is on sale for 3 bucks, it's a great little monster taming metroidvania roguelike-ish (you go back to the start but keep monster taming experience and map discovery on death) bullet hell game.
The capture mechanic by lassoing is great imo.
It's not a huge game, if you know stuff like forager, expect that.

  5. Hi, please make a video about "Pokemon-like" games that aren't completely Pokemon games, but just have similar mechanics. Because on the channel you often talk about updates on "some raw projects with 0 potential", and about conditional WOW I never heard. While there are 1400 pets, many different options for obtaining them (just catch in nature, do achievements/quests, go through raids, etc. ). At the same time, there are also dungeons, there are battles with npc and there is pvp.

  6. My top 5 would definitely be (in order): 1) Anode Heart (damn, damn good), Cassette Beasts, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Digimon Next Order, and SMT.
All great games, didn't really see anything else that caught my eye.

But I haven't played much of the newer ones like Moonstone or Palworld so they could still be contenders..

  7. You skipped Anode Heart!
That is probably the best on the list TBH, by far my best surprise in the last year.

Felt like I was playing a love letter to the monster taming community, it had so many references and inspiration from other titles in the genre.
Especially the original Digimon games, it really nailed that same feeling they gave you back in the day.
