  1. Hey all – we had some audio issues at the start – be warned the first 5 mins had some problems. We sorted that out for the second audio section and got our notes strait moving forward on how to do this. We tried a new thing so there are naturally some hiccups along the way but for our next live we know what to do now! Please be sure to enjoy the audio on the END of the clip and skip over the first time minutes of this live play back. Thank you! 😀

  2. Kind a paled comparison to the project I've been working on for my own custom sci-fi universe. I've already drawn almost all the ships for every race and organization. (Over 30). Still writing the specifications for every ship and finished the data and history on alien races but I already have the whole back story for earth/humanity done. Tried to hire Samuel to do CGI renders but he never answered any emails just ignores

  3. Like this. Always found the thing that put me off the most about star trek was the incredible lack of reality in how Starfleet functioned. Always seemed to be some idealistic anecdote on why basic infrastructure, physical and political, didn't exist.

  4. The whole debate about photon torpedoes and the like raises an interesting point: photon torpedoes as portrayed in Star Trek are woefully underpowered. Each torpedo has 1.5kg of matter & antimatter (so 3kg total), which means each torpedo should have a yield of about 65 megatons. I get that photon torpedoes have a variable yield, but still…

  5. The new picard trailer is out. There is a new USS Titan, and the cgi looks like..well, bad. Also the ship (similarly to the Stargazer) looks like a step back in the starship design evolution, than forward. Maybe a refit? But then why is it the next USS Titan? Also, on the bridge, the sound effect of the "radar" is from Star Trek 2009. They reaaaly tried to save money there. 🙁

  6. With energy weapons of the ST universe and targeting systems anything that rises above the horizon can be targeted then fired upon.

The Battleship will make a comeback against the Carrier , as the fighter plane will be under attack the moment the plane rises above the horizon.

  7. @1:19 I can't believe that a Betazoid would last five minutes in combat, especially ground combat without the ability to block out ALL emotion from others, and that negates their ability.

Getting shot at is intense. Terror, Euphoria, Hate, Love, Loathing, Excitement and other emotions are struggling for supremacy while you are trying to mostly successfully manage and onslaught of rapidly changing information.

  8. Samuel, drydocks are for repair.
A ship not needing repair is moored at a dock, or is at anchor (anchorage) in a protected harbor. Operational ships are not stored in dry dock. The term Dry Dock is means the water can be pumped out and the hull that would be below the water line is accessible for repairs, maintenance, and removal of barnacles or other sea life.

  9. The U.S. Marine Corps as well as the various Royal Marines of the late Queen's commonwealth are notorious for having kit that was very reliable, but at least a couple decades behind that of their peers in other branches. Is rthis reflected in the Bissigverse Federation Marine Corps?
The issue I have the biggest gripe with is that there should be squad members who are sensor/situational awareness specialists. For instance, "quadcopter pilot" is an essential part of highly functional platoons fighting in current conflicts. A basic tricorder system would give a squad the ability to see through walls, and read the life signs of the enemy without exposing good soldiers to needless harm. Room clearing is one of the most important jobs of an infantryman. Leaving your soldiers without a tricorder to scan the room ahead of time is just reckless endangerment of your soldier's lives. A federation soldier''s #1 tool should be their sensors. If there were such things as tricorders in the real world, we would be outfitting every soldier with one. It would be a force multiplier, and foolish not to use.
Otherwise, this is a very fun lot of world building. Where do I get my hands on it?
