  2. I think my first outpost is going to be on a partially forested planet. Something less wooded than Endor.
    Can not wait for Starfield. I'm taking a five day weekend off work to do nothing but play Starfield after release.

  3. I'm not too particular in my choice of "home" biome, just so long as it has a breathable atmosphere, pleasant weather, and a gorgeous view… preferably with a KILLER night sky, like a ring or a gas giant or a gas giant with a ring 😀

    Time will tell what I need for defense, but off the cuff, I'll assume a high elevation with limited approaches and good fields of fire. Building in a vale like the demo player is only inviting monsters and/or raiders to swarm in while snipers hold the ridge

    I'm guessing/hoping that the other tabs have individual walls, floors, and walkways to build your own structures, and that you're not limited to a handful of pre-fabs. I'm kind of hoping bases will fit together like the Vault-Tek DLC for FO4

  4. getting strong factoro vibes here my guess is that each plant has a resource that gets mined passively as long as there is the right building sufficient power then refined and lastly combine multiple recourses for more advance recourses

  5. If we side with a certain faction it would be so cool if you were to build in an enemy system you’re more likely to get attacked & have to pay to defend it etc.

    As long as it’s not a FO4 scenario where ‘one of your settlements is under attack’ & no matter how well defended it is it gets destroyed if you don’t go save it😂

  7. I hadn't really considered what kind of world I'll want my main outpost on but off the top of my head something with a primitive Jurassic like biosphere might be cool. Maybe in a jungle or coastal area perhaps.

    But also a stark barren moon like planet would have ita charms too. With so many planets it seems we won't be hurting for choice here.

  8. Looks quite similar to No Mans Sky base building. That’s no bad thing. With a bit of polish that system could be very fun. It was definitely one of the better parts of NMS

  9. Theres alot we simply don't know when it come to the outpost construction in Starfield. In the footage we have seen, we have only seen the "structures" menu of the "outpost editor". But looking at 6.02 , you can see containers (storage/cargo), some kind of oil-pump device (production?) and some tall posts with triangles at the top (defence?). What are those? and what do they do? Can you build vertically?

    TBH I see this becoming a thing of "build 1st outpost, ramp up production, go exploring, return to pick metals and aluminium (this english spelling 😉 ) and go build another outpost, repeat, repeat, repeat". That just sounds great to me.

    As for first outpost, I want to build an outpost on a desert planet. That would have that cool "Dune" vibe to it but I suspect the 1st outpost you build would be a scripted mission like when you had to build things in Sanctuary for the MM in FO4.

    But once the production of metals and aluminium is up and running (and the ship is big enough to carry enough to put down a full outpost!) I would look to build them all over even if its to sell the stuff at main colonies for cash to build a bigger ship(s) 😇

  10. I really want to build a base on a more tropical island looking planet. Blue waters, white sands….sounds good to me just need a space drink with a little umbrella in it and a lawn chair. Seriously I hope there is furniture or the modders make some.

  11. I wonder if you will be able to scan planets from space and have your ship tell you the elements available on the planet. No since landing on a planet to mine a certain element only for it to not exist there. That would help streamline harvesting materials for building.
