Stardew Valley Expanded – Let's Play Ep 51

It’s pouring out so it’s a good time to put down more crops, fiddle with the coop feeding situation, do a rainy day seed run and then head over to East Scarp for iridium bat hunting (I’m looking in the wrong place this time and at least one more time – I forgot they were up north!)

  1. I don't think you've added enough paths to connect the hay bin to the hay bench. There's a "something" in between them that might be interrupting that connection. You'll need to put the path around that "something" so the path touches both the hay bin and the hay bench. I'm not sure if it will be direct, however. You may need the chest to move the hay through. Not sure on that though. I'll be watching to see if this works for you… because wouldn't that be awesome!?

  2. I like Sterling. He's really quite cheeky and tended to get flirty as I got to know him better… not in a disgusting way, just flirty. Not sure what he does with males because I changed my character completely as soon as I had the chance to.

  3. In my house, I have a chest automatically harvesting my tea plants (located in the old baby room) from the other room (the den), then making tea from the leaves. The tea plants are in pots… and since they don't have to be watered, this works great. I want to test auto-harvesting in my greenhouse from the actual ground to see if that will work. Wouldn't that be fantastic?! If I get my way, I'll have the whole farm automatically doing almost everything… giving me time to make friends, see the cut-scenes, and actually play the rest of the game instead of spending days on end caring for animals and crops.

  4. Scarecrows have a radius of 8 squares… so north, south, east, and west, 8 squares in each direction from the scarecrow (17 squares, side-to-side). Corner to scarecrow is 6 squares (13 squares corner-to-corner). Setting scarecrows into the middle of fields is the best because you get the most protection from them but, as long as you keep their radius in mind when you place them, you can get decent coverage for your crops by setting them around the edges of your crop fields.

  5. Looking forward to when you find those iridium bats!! 😅

And if you haven't found them yet in your playing I think they were in the top right corner of the map. You have to move over a screen.
