If you follow my channel you already know that after a year or so of courting, it had appeared that a deal between these two companies would have been completed in the spring of 2024, but just over a month ago the person who currently controls Paramount walked away from a possible deal. Since then, it appears that the two sides were able to come to a new agreement, with Skydance adding some money and additional provisions to sweeten the deal. At the time of recording this video, there is still a chance that another company could swoop in and make an offer on Paramount, but that seems unlikely to happen before the 45 day grace period ends.

  1. Stop beating a dead horse!
Trek is DEAD ,it died after ST:ENT ended PERIOD
    I binge-watch ST:TNG,ST:DS9 and ST:VOY once a year.To keep the good memories alive.
Let me tell you even the worst Episodes of those 3 are better than the 'BEST' episodes of ANY new TREK.
And about Wokeness and Marxism in Trek,it has ALWAYS been that way ,but it was much more subtle.
Think about it,the whole Trek-Universe is practically space-communism,no money,no capital,no wealth,no rich,no poor all are equals.only exception are the ferengi and those are often the butt of jokes because they are Capitalists and sexists.
New trek tries to hammer woke.ideals with a sledgehammer into the viewers head.without any real and good-written plot .
what i mean by that is in old trek those messages were always there as well but they werent the main plot, you could say, they were the icing on the cake.
While in new Trek they ARE the CAKE.
And i can understand that this annoys people,It annoys me as well.
Old Trek = positive glimpse into mankinds future ,what COULD we be like in 200 years .better yourself and mankind with you for the sake of everybody.
    New Trek=an OVER-THE-TOP-Mirror of todays society…nothing more .
If i want to see that ,i turn on the TV and watch the NEWS..not a Star-Trek-Show

  2. I am more concerned on what this means for other CBS properties. Having a single spot for all my Star Trek content was the main reason for me getting P+ but getting the rest of the Paramount and CBS roster was a bonus.
Then Paramount+ licensed out streaming of the pre-Kelvin movies to Amazon for a pay to rent scenario.
Paramount+ has never had the best reaming app to begin with and It just seems like they were positioning themselves to fail from the very beginning.

  3. As new treki, i may consider new generation of star trek, as much i like the original series movies and shows, can we more movies thst different like a ds9 or stang new world especially if thier going be 5 season can get a movie if that cast, i really really enjoy love the casting choice on strange new worlds. Not end kower decks, and can we get a spin off of picaed season 3, i ddi enjoy all three season, i love the third one for obvious reasons, just i did enjoy the first two seaosn of Picard it was different. Just we had jj flims of the original series movies, i don't think we should have a another remaster of the original series movies. I just want something different. I understand the old fans who grew up loving just only the original serious nothing more and the kther old fans who love tng ds9 and Voyager, just somthing different, or spin off movies of ds9 or voyager for once.

  4. Will the new owners lift the restrictions on fan films? All those control-freak reactions made trekkers hate Paramount. Fan films and other fan-driven efforts are a net + for any franchise and should be encouraged.
