STANDARD 10 & MORE at the Swettenham Arms evening car meet

In today’s video I rewind the calendar back to August and our trip in the MX5 to a regular classic & modern sportscar meet, held in the agreeable surroundings of the Swettenham Arms pub in Cheshire.
As per usual, an interesting mix of old cars turned up for this one, some classic cars, and some later sporting/enthusiast cars, so a bit of everything gracing the car park in front of the Swettenham Arms. This car meet takes place on Tuesday evenings throughout the spring/summer/autumn months, when daylight extends well into the evening time.
Highlights this time included a FIAT 500, Ford Mustang, Morris Minor Traveller, Morgan, Vauxhall Viva, Mercedes SL, and a fine old Standard 10 in green.

  1. Hi 👋 what a great mix of nifty looking vechiles. I like the blue cool looking VW Beetle. I usually don't like modifications on cars , but that VW is an exception. That Standard 10 is nice. One of my grandfather's owned a 1950s one in grey with a red interior i remember. Very good car show. Thanks.

  2. So it’s actually Freezing here in Jacksonville Florida. No cars to wash/ Detail, so I’ve been hibernating these past couple days.
3:05 am, here. A great video to relax to, before I go to sleep.
    Some interesting cars.

  3. Hi, great coverage of a Swettenham meet. When I saw my Standard 10 it brought a tear to my eye! I have owned it for several years and really enjoyed the experience. I have parted with it and now own a VW Camper t2 from the early seventies. I have owned many classics over the years but the little 10 has a special place in my heart. Hope it gets a good home! Cheers

  4. Lovely to see some great classics. My daughter recently took me to Oakham treasures Museum in Potbury Bristol and it is a truly amazing place to visit. Not sure whether you have featured it on your channel if not it is well worth a visit if you are in the Bristol area. It is a huge place and stocks a massive selection of farming equipment, several classic cars and motorcycles, Corgi, Matchbox and Dinky cars and an extremely large selection of memorabilia of all types.

  5. I wish I still had my 1969 HB Viva – it was a very reliable and good driving car (unlike mt later HC Viva). To be fair though, my Viva didn't look at all like the one on display here. Both of the Morris Travellers looked stunning. In fact I think I would have happily taken several of today's cars home with me. Thanks for the video as always.

  6. A great selection of old cars there. The pickup was very nicely done I have to say. Vauxhall Viva HB now there's a flash back even modified she looked good. The triumph TR6 was a well presented car and I agree, it is nice to see one that is not red for a change. All the MG's that turned up were all in good order as well. The Standard 10 was very nice too. Thanks for the post Rick, well done. 👍👍

  7. Another great show Rick. My best beloved and l are sat here in Nova Scotia reminiscing about the various cars we've owned and the locations you visit. Keep on filming. We're loving everything you do.
Thank you. Tom and Alison (ex Weaverham folk!)
