  2. Taylor posts her lyric videos on her youtube channel at the same time her album releases.
Edit for clarity: she releases a lyric video for all her releases (vault, etc)

  3. Taylor has specifically said that vault tracks are songs that didn't make the album at the time for one reason or another that she's still proud of enough to put out

  4. When Emma falls in love sounds so much like drops of Jupiter which is was she sang live on the speak now tour, so I’m guessing she wrote this song while listening to drops of Jupiter. Also I think I can see you is about fantasizing doing stuff with Lautner during the movie they were in back then

  5. she definately wrote those vault tracks during each of her eras, i absolutely have no doubt about that..not just the ideas or half written lyrics. It a complete song, well structured with complete melodies. She said herself, songs that DIDN'T make it to the album. From Fearless TV, Red TV & now SNTV..each of those vault tracks fit perfectly to each albums in terms of melodies..song writing..her music during those eras..
I think (imo) the idea for Castle Crumbling start from VMA's incident..& knowing she's an observant to everything, she must have seen those superstars that falls from grace.. She spoke about this in Lucky Ones..Nothing New.. I do think after that VMA'S, the fear falling from grace is forever present in the back of her mind..even now..😶😶😶

  6. I am an OG from debut and I don't care if she changed the lyrics. I will always support what Taylor does with her rerecords. She was in a lose-lose situation with better than revenge.

  7. I'm watching every reaction video just vibing with fellow Swifties and ahhhh Speak Now is so great! I was not a fan of the vault tracks apart from ICSY the first like 5 times I listened to it, but seeing other fans vibe to it is actually making me warm up to them more.

Also lol a lot of Swifties I think don't listen to The National and actually forget that Aaron Dessner is literally a founding member of one of the best contemporary rock bands out there. It is not weird for him to produce music for a Fall Out Boy collab. I think since he made folklore and evermore and the 3AM his reputations with Swifties is kinda "soft, gentle music" Aaron, but The National has amazing heavy instrumentations (usually credited to their drummer Bryan Devendorf , but still).

  8. What do you MEAN the video is over?!

Obviously this was filmed one week ago so since then I’m sure you’ve fathomed a lot more from this initial reaction, but anyways:

-Changes: I miss my “is a little trOUBLing” enunciation. With all the public attention it would’ve been hard to keep BTR mattress, but it’s still jarring and I still sing wrong every time. All the other stuff, yes def more punk rock with the instrumentations

-Sound equalization: check your Spotify and turn that off, it does throw some stuff off balance for sure, it’s a whole new listen with it on/off

-Re-records: I GET the “want to be focused” bc after 2hrs brains are fuzzy…that being said, sonically and lyrically and just vibe-wise, i def think the vault tracks hit better after the full album in order, it’s one cohesive sound, vs jumping into new songs from an old era can be a little jarring, so i always need to listen to it all first

-Hurt: Dear John/Last Kiss and stuff like that, it def does have more nostalgic than sad/angry/searing vibes, but it’s such a cool evolution to hear that shift and bring new meanings to the songs from the original teenage angst

-Tears: Lost it at Never Grow Up alone in my apartment at 1am, and Long Live…ugh, yeah, waterworks 🥹🥹

-Taylor stans during re-records really be like “she breathed 😮”

-ICSY: Her sexiest song def took a new meaning with the video, and it’s def been my biggest grower of the vaults from first listen, but again i love them all so

-Castles Crumbling: I’m sure you’ve seen by now, but Hayley said (paraphrasing) that Taylor wrote ab growing up in the industry and the stuff that happened to/around them at the time

-Vaults: Yeah, as everyone is saying, written songs that just didn’t make the cut. Nothing New vibes mentioned in the lover diaries and that sort of thing, Sparks Fly being an unreleased song with lyric changes before SN, stuff like that. Yeah she has some freedom to maybe change a few things, but overall, the concept and lyrics are there initially. Ally S had made some predictions before the track list was announced and 4/6 vault tracks were on her list, like these songs have been known of/existed for a while.
Also, she’s taken lyrics from vault songs that didn’t get released and put them on other songs after too (think the bulletproof lyric, the “it’s delicate”, the castles crumbling, the “casually cruel”, a lot of those lyrics that she loved didn’t make the cut so she brought them into new songs later on, but later the vaults get released and it’s dejavu, so yeah i see them as all fully written, that maybe get some minor tweaks

-Band: Lost it at seeing how Paul, Amos, Liz, and Caitlin are all involved in this, it’s just too much for my poor fragile heart 😭😭😭

This was like MY album, and I can’t tell you how much I needed this, my life is now complete, I have my stan album, my life is complete 🥹

  11. You guys do know that Taylor could not "duplicate" the original tracks because of copyright laws. The new recordings have to be significantly different to avoid a lawsuit from Big Machine.

  12. Little known fact about Innocent: Kanye was 32 when he drunkenly grabbed the mic from Taylor. And the award show happened on September 13, 2009 and the number 13 is a lucky number for Taylor.

  14. Sparks Fly and Long Live have always been two of my favorite songs on Speak Now. I enjoy hearing them now in Taylor’s more mature voice and different instrumentation.

  15. Did you guys see the stuff about the spotify options? some of those options make the music kind of wonky, that´s why the instruments sounded so different for some people

  16. wrt the vault songs i think it’s case-by-case like some of them were full songs and we know only the production changed bc we have the demos (better man, that’s when, bye bye baby was floating around as a demo called “one thing”, etc, etc). some stuff we know she wrote the words to like nothing new we knew about bc of the lover diaries. and some stuff was probably like vague unfinished melodies with like a song concepts and some words like the voice memos we’ve heard from 1989.

  17. I think Castle's Crumbling was written after tge Grammys performance with Stevie Nicks when everyone said she performed horribly and Bob Lefsestz (the song Mean was written about him afterwards) said she had destroyed her career. Before that Grammys, he had been a huge supporter and praised her many times, and had regular email correspondence with her and her father. He was a big entertainment industry writer and lawyer with many connections.

Edit: Just realized there are no more title tracks to re record so she perfected all of them
