  1. A topic that nobody seems to cover is that the story of the game is only about 10% complete. It is the first 10% and then you skip right to the end where they have added a disjointed ending that doesn't make sense. I know it is in early access and that is fine but I don't think they should have even put the ending into the game until they finished the rest. I also wish they fix the issue where you can just run past all the enemies in the game with impunity and not have to engage them in any of the caves (with exception to the cave blocking abominations).

  2. idk, as a hardcore fan of the original game, supporting it since launch, this game is pretty disappointing. No log cart, no upgrade pouches, few weapons are just the beginning. the story is super short that i hope gets longer bc i accidentally beat the game. Your inventory is maxed off the bat thus not driving you to improve using pouches. there are only a few different animals which all do the same thing, just packaged into different form factors. The game is way too easy and doesn’t promote base building at all. the variety of mutants is pitifully small and super repetitive, the map is massive but so empty it’s a waste. I want to love this game, i’ve been waiting for ever but seriously? 10 years in the making and it seems like they spent all that time coding side things and other mechanics that barely matter in the grand scheme of things. I know it’s early access, and i know the original game release in a far worse state, but still, I expected much much more. I eagerly await updates to finish the game

  3. The Forest was one of my top 5 most memorable and substantial gaming experiences with a friend of mine. The fear and excitement and mystery was so awesome the whole

  4. Very deceptive review, gameranx. I trust your future reviews a little bit less now. How this game is an improvement to The Forest in every single way is beyond me – it's simply not. That was a lie straight from your mouth

  5. i’m loving the game but it’s a bit buggy and some of the mechanics are annoying but it’s still beta and there’s plenty of time! i cant wait to see what’s nextb

  6. Virginia and Kelvin easily my favorite parts. The AI companions were a little glitchy but I was not expecting how intelligent they could be, especially Virginia. I didn't even know she could be a companion. The process of befriending her was really organic, and she had alot of unexpected abilities that were really intuitive.

  7. My biggest issue with the game is that combat is too rudimentary, like yeah there are guns you can get and you can have 8 players to help but if you're playing solo literally just the addition of a dodge function would help drastically when you're getting ganked at the beginning of the game.

Also I still don't get why they won't let us craft rope and cloth from raw materials. Please, for the love of god PLEASE let us craft necessary items like this

  8. A game with good AI is so much better. So many games don’t realize that. Especially in horror games seeing them watch u then get more aggressive it actually is unsettling cause u can’t predict the ai

  9. Yeah it’s great that you have an AI to assist you with building a base, would be a shame if he was blown up by a grenade within the first 20 seconds…
