  1. I heard this album last night on YouTube, and I really enjoyed it as well. This is up there with Shape of Despair and Conjurer in terms of doom metal of 2022 for me. This weekend has some great music releasing in general, including Wickerbird, Haavard (solo album from a former Ulver guitarist), and Constellatia.

Also, I need to find someone to slowdance to "Unrequited" with LOL

  2. I bought the first Dream Unending record last year not knowing Dereck from Tomb Mold was involved. I put the album in my top 5 albums of 2021. Cynic meets Paradise Lost. Jus went on to purchase the new one on cassette on your recommendation. Really looking forward to this one

  3. A year ago when I heard Tide Turns Eternal I bought it on vinyl immediately. The album complemented Worm Foereverglade so much that I play both one after the other. This year we got two more amazing albums from both bands. We are spoiled!

  4. I slept on this band big time. If I were to redo my AOTY list last year, their debut would make it in my top 10 probably. But I think this album improved upon that album especially in the production, the riffs and the added influences really make this album pretty special imo. I definitely Appreciate their Optimistic and hopeful underbelly especially since it’s how I feel now since Midterms are happening and seeing Fetterman kicking Dr. Oz’s Ass.

yeah I’ll give this a 4.5/5, but I’ll be honest….. maybe could be a 5 one day. If Tomb Mold isn’t a thing anymore I’m at least happy we have Dream Unending.

  6. I'm a fan of My Dying Bride styled deathdoom so it all sounds very compelling. Thank you.
Also, OMG, my jaw just dropped… they have metal themed button shirts!?? How come i never saw one for sale

  7. I am not usually into death-doom aside from Autopsy, but I'll give this a whirl soon. I might have to gradually start prepping for my 2nd Annual Golden Wheel Awards starting this weekend. I'm seeing VOLA at the Hard Luck Bar on Monday, so I'm pumped for that!

  8. I haven't been able to listen to much really slow heavy music lately, unless you count more epic/traditional doomy stuff like Trouble and other projects Eric Wagner was involved with, or the Finnish stuff like Spiritus Mortis, but this sounds incredible. I like how you describe that it's influenced by the 90s doomdeath classics everyone knows but also is something more. I definitely burned out on paradise Lost and My Dying Bride years ago and Anathema long since left that sound behind. I was into this stuff in the late 90s, first discovering My Dying Bride and PL in '96 — taht sound meant a hell of a lot to me at that time, but has definitely fallen by the wayside in recent years. This is just the kind of week though where some dreamy doomdeath from a young and fresh band sounds like just the thing for me.
