Somme and The Great War: then & now

After visiting Ypres in 2021 (you may watch my video “Ypres and The Great War then and now” on Youtube), last June I visited the Somme, looking for the locations where the battle was fought in 1916. Like 3 years ago the experience was deep and very emotional, for my passion for photography. Also in this case I got some 1916 photos from the web and I looked for the spots where the original photos were taken:

Knill’s grave (3:06), Cappy (3:24), Chipilly (3.37), Cappy aerodrome (4:00), Red Baron’s burial (4:08), Bois de la Fermes (4:34), Mametz Wood (4:48), Flers-Lesboufs road (4:56), Fricourt-Mametz valley (5:09), Longueval (5:24), Mailly Mallet (5:32), Harbonnieres (6:09), Peronne (6:22), Avril Wood (6:59), Riqueval bridge (7:12), Morcourt (7:26), Minden Post (7:38), Hawthorne ridge (8:03), Sunken lane (8:16), White City (8:42), Pozieres (8:57).
