This one left me speechless. Today I am finally listening to Judas Priest for the first time… and what a ride! This is my reaction to their official video for the song Painkiller.

Indeed! Deserved to be 'the' video to have the most restarts
I freaking love this song !!! . Makes me want to drive faster and faster 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻
One of the greatest metal songs of all time. Sadly neglected, and thank you for reacting!
GRL!!!!! Ur facial eXpressions throughout this vid speak volume:@Welcome 2 the world of us JPaddicts!
I'm pretty sure those layered vocals in some spots on this song are all Halford. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Да ты латентная металистка 🙂
Be aware that more recent performances will not sound anything like this. Rob Halford's voice has deteriorated quite a bit with age. This song and video are from his peak, vocally.
Ah, yes, "Painkiller". That moment in 1990 when Judas Priest reminded the world that the only real competition was for second best metal band.
What he did in the drum intro was a metric modulation. I haven't counted it, but it sounds to me like it's switching from a straight 16th (maybe triplet 16ths?) pulse to like quarter notes with a backbeat. It's a pretty jarring change in groove, but it creates a good sense of tension and release right out of the gate, while simultaneously setting up the groove for the guitar to play into when it comes in.
Jesus frickin' Christ (Or Judas Priest, whatever…)
You don't do that with good music. I know you're a vocal coach, but Rock isn't meant to be analyzed, you're supposed to FEEL the emotions as you get into the groove.
Otherwise, glad you liked it… you just gave me a coniption every time you paused and went back to the beginning.
Far out.
We blasted this song as well as "Run To The Hills" by Iron Maiden on boomboxes strapped to the front of our Amtraks during Desert Storm, you know, just to let them know the Marines were coming… sort of like "March of the Valkyries" by Wagner in the movie "Apocalypse Now".
The Iraqis didn't like it very much. I wonder why…
Carry on.
It's OK.
That's how you should react to a
METAL MASTERPIECE!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Best album in my opinion, 1976 Sad Wings of Destiny. Best Priest song that gives me chills to this day, The Ripper. Too short, but a good reason to listen to it again!
Judas Priest has it all
Talk about a baptism by fire! This is a template for ALL metal music. The guitar solo by Glen Tipton is genius.
Rob Halford is known for his screams, higher notes than most people can hit especially men, this song is not really how he performs most songs, he frequently has some very high screams but most commonly sings in a lower range than this song.
If I remember well, this drum intro was an exercise to warming the drummer and someone listen and say “we must record it” and I think it is a very Iconic sound of all times
Beyond The Realms of Death and Victim Of Changes next.
Your "nasty face" through Tiptons solo said it all! 🤘
Normally sings lower but can go high, this first and maybe only song mostly high, most miss when he goes low then high again and most reactors miss the long "Killeeerrr….pain" at the end. Im always impressed how long he could hold killer like that
She looks concerned, not frightened, but nervous. 😂
