Islands of Insight Part 8 – the third area begins now, and we start things off with a tricky four star puzzle, follow it up with an okay quest, then find a quest that introduces two new puzzle types! Phase dials and music puzzles, both winners to me. What more will I find?

There’s no way they don’t reuse puzzles
When you must connect all light squares and all dark squares, you can not have any checkerboard and there is at most 1 black region and 1 white region around the side of the board. If you have two regions around the side of the board, you, having to connect those regions, will keep either all the white or all the black from connecting. The only way this would not be true would be if there were three dimensions to these puzzles.

The Autumn Falls area had a lot of puzzles I didn't really like unfortunately. Also, there is an enclave in the last area with super easy logic grids for who knows what reason.
(P.S. I struggled with the 10 required music grids without even trying to memorize them and going one by one)

I'm glad you decided to keep the vod's up on YouTube after the stream. I don't have the opportunity to watch live but at least I can see the stream after the fact.
The reasoning for the outside edges is as follows:
If you must connect all dark cells, then any area surrounded by white cells must be filled in by white cells since black cells will not be able to escape. In this case the surrounded area has as a border an unknown path between the white cells and the edge of the puzzle. this border will always contain the edge cells between the white cells.
When does this reasoning not hold:
– There are no black cells elsewhere in the grid
– There is a black cell between the white cells along the edge.
– There is no connect black constraint
Some of the insights (the info screens that come up after some of the puzzles) that come up in later areas actually provide extremely helpful understanding for some of the advanced rules.

On the cliff and the void island I have unfortunately sunk hours to 100% it (yes the one with the hidden cubes) There is ONE left and it will forever haunt me until I find it. I just wish the game gave you some cosmetic if you 100% an island

that light brown is blending in with the environment way too good, i can hardly read anything.
i suggest you change it to have a contrast giving border outline if possible, or to a color that is not blending in with nature as much.
i admit that is easier said than done, given how colorful and vivid everything is, but something like a strong red could probably do the trick.

It is incredible how smart tyler is with logic puzzles and newrly everything else but it is also amusing how he struggles with the sightseer puzzle.
