  13. With a Panzer 38t this doesn't make a real difference anyway in the outcome of the attack, but unless I'm mistaken, the Lunge Mine isn't affected by side or rear armor. Pg. 272 – "…immediately resolve a hit against the vehicle with a penetration value of +8 (no other penetration modifiers apply)."

    That tells me that the Lunge Mine doesn't benefit from side armor, rear armor, or "Point-blank range" on the chart on Pg. 314

    If the Warlord judge ruled differently that would be huge to know 👀

  19. I don't know why the Japanese would be written off in V3. They've gone from easy mode to still powerful but more balanced. Free army wide Fanatic is the best boost.

    V2 2nd edition Japanese were such easy mode that I came 2nd in a local event that had 24 players. I am a shit player and at best get draws and usually get thrashed. I actually come in the bottom quarter of most events and even get the odd wooden spoon. Yet that Banzai/Fanatic combo made it so easy to get my Japanese (equipped with LMGs at that) on to objectives and defending well.

    I then went back to my Germans, Soviets and Brits and went back to getting thrashed.

    I think what many people don't get is that Bolt Action isn't WH40K or FOW. Your average BA trooper is still a guy with a rifle. The tanks don't matter that much (especially in V3 where something like a T-34 is a waste of points, let alone a Panther or King Tiger).
