  1. I'm under the impression this is due to what the higher ups allow. Today's Imagineers could have great non-IP ideas that get thrown out because the higher ups want rides with IPs they can sell merchandise to. Especially with competition like Universal raking it in with their Harry Potter, Simpsons, and Nintendo lands and pretty much rewriting the standard of theme parks

  2. Yes they have lost their ability to be creative and original. They would rather tear down old rides instead of building new ones and expand their parks. That and all they seem to care about is remastering old movies into new
✨ live action ✨ films instead of being original. The few original movies they have made are just political statements that flop on their face because instead of making a movie that teaches kids important life lessons they just race swap and add random lgbt messages with no reason or depth other then pleasing people at face value. Disney is something i grew up with and loved for so long, sad to see something that was once amazing turn into a turd sandwich. But hey on the upside dreamworks pumped out a great movie (puss in boots the last wish) I wasn’t invested much into that character but i will say they did an amazing job on character creation and character development with a great lesson at the end. So ill be sticking with them from here on out, they seem to actually have artist and storytellers in their studios.

  3. Isn’t that a good thing? It can make you feel more in touch with your favorite characters. Or at least that’s what I felt when I was in Disney World a few days ago.

  4. Honestly, no. I don't think disney has lost their creativity. I would assume that with more new movies released, and with more new characters, guests would enjoy to see beyond the movies. Get to see more of the story. This is just my honest opinion.

  5. This person overlooks (or is unaware) that Walt made the conscious decision to NOT use IP because if the park went bankrupt, there was the chance they would lose that IP. it's why Disneyland was names Disneyland and not Mickeyland.

  6. This was a shower thought I had hoping they already have it, but I think it's belles book shelf, from that scene… I dunno, it's been a while since I've watched beauty and the beast, but I'm pretty sure she loves books. They should make a huge mystical library, just for the book lovers.

  7. Ummm, that's exactly why he opened the parks. Yes he wanted a clean safe place for kids and adults to have fun together, but he definitely wanted to promote movies and tv with the park. Day 1 attractions included Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, and he had tv specials about the different lands.

  8. I’d honestly like to see less of a focus of IP and more original theming/ride. I feel like Disney’s too reliant on it seeing Galaxy’s Edge and Marvel’s Campus literally being the same thing, just different IPs/font…

  9. They lost the most happiest place on earth when they increased there prices to a ridiculous amount for what you get. They let loud mouth trash into their parks that fight with other trash also You can wait up to 3hrs to get on a ride. Your lucky to get 4 rides in one one given day. They have tons of shops and 2 places to get food that's incredibly expensive. Now they support transgender. Keep your kids.
