Episode 524. Dave “Snake” Sabo from Skid Row joins this week. We start off by talking about Snake’s love for KISS and their influence on him as a musician. Snake reveals something we had never heard before, on the Farewell Tour before each show Skid Row would give Paul Stanley a word of the day that he had to incorporate into his stage rap that night… you won’t believe some of the words they gave Paul, LMAO!!!! Snake also talks about how they found their new lead singer, Erik Grönwall, and recorded their new album, The Gang’s All Here. We talk about reunions and why there will never be a Skid Row reunion.

  2. Paul saved Kiss. Period. Paul is the CEO of Kiss, as he should be. Gene looked out of sorts and lost when they took the make up off, until revenge. It took Gene 8 years to find his proper look. If Paul said fuck it, when Gene went Hollywood and disappeared in the 80's, I highly doubt Vinnie waltzing in would have save shit. Without Paul's dedication to this band, it was game over. They were on life support at that point. That question is disrespectful to Paul, IMHO. Mr. Stanley carried Simmons for 15 years. He made him a very undeservidly wealthy man. Gene was in it for Gene and Paul was in it for Kiss. I can't fathom Mark even thinking Vinnie saved Kiss, Vinnie was a band aid, then a rash. My question for Mark is, could Tommy do Bruces leads, shreds and level of skill, justice?

  4. Another great show guys, and it made me so happy to hear Snake speak so fondly of KISS! He feels exactly the same way I do about them. I've always been a big Skid Row fan and so glad they're still around and rockin'. I've also been wondering what was up with this Paul Stanley's word of the day, and when Snake talked about it, it was hilarious! I really hope he suggests "Three Sides". I could think of a few, but they'd be inappropriate 😈Thanks guys!

  6. I’ve seen Skid Row twice live, both with Sebastian, always great live… I love the new album, probably the best one since Slave To The Grind, i liked the Johnny Salinger stuff too, but there’s something about Erik that just fits really good

  7. I texted you guys and messaged you through here about a year ago, asking if you could try getting Snake on. Whether you remember my messages or not, who knows, but I’m just glad you got him on. Such a great interview with a lifelong KISS fan who has lived the dream. You guys knocked it out of the park with this one. 👍

  8. My friends and I got to meet all of Skid Row in February/March 1991 right outside New River Studios in Fort Lauderdale when they were recording Slave To The Grind. Snake was very kind to everyone, as were the other guys in the band, signing autographs, taking pictures, and chatting with fans.

  9. What a great conversation with Snake, I am sad that I won't be able to see them live, because it won't coincide with my 2 trips to the United States (I live in Venezuela). But I will see Kiss at the Hollywood Bowl in November. And I will see Buckcherry in Ft. Lauderdale. Hope Skid Row extends the tour to November.

  10. I've been watching Three Sides since the beginning and this episode hits me the most. I discovered Skid Row opening for KISS in 2000 as an 18 year old, then immediately went out and bought all of their albums on cassette at a used record store. I met Snake and Rachel backstage when they came through town a few years later. Snake was such a nice guy. Great interview, guys!
