Slay the Spire October 2nd Daily – Ironclad | Gambling Chip to the Rescue!

Hi All! This is my attempt at the October 2nd Daily with the Ironclad. The run starts at 1:15, and yesterday’s review starts at 35:04.
The modifiers for this daily are:

1. Cursed Run: Whenever you defeat a Boss, become Cursed. Your starting relic is replaced with Cursed Key, Darkstone Periapt, and Du-Vu Doll.
2. Hoarder: Whenever you add a card to your deck, add two additional copies. You can no longer remove cards from your deck at the Merchant.
3. Binary: Card rewards contain only 2 cards.

My final score was 1720, which was good. I perfected 5/8 of the possible Elites and 2/3 of the bosses.

Slay the Spire is a game created and developed by Mega Crit Games. An Early Access version was released in November 2017, and was updated almost weekly until the full release on January 23, 2019. Version 2.0 was released on January 14, 2020, which included many added relics, potions, and most importantly, the fourth character.

Thanks to Stephen for the Friends mod that I use at the end of the video.

  1. Another brutal and exhilarating run, similar to yours, except I went for pauper, which I tend to do when decks go so big and with so much strength I don't think rare cards were that useful. I also had better luck with the first boss, drawing my disarms earlier which allowed me to perfect it. I missed combo, perfected one less elite and had one less collector (probably Offering, because pauper).

  2. 6 writhes in act2 stopped me perfecting the elites so only managed 5 but then got gambling chip, got 16 collectors, overkill was easy and just managed shiny, killed too quickly for combo, i perfected the first boss but can't remember how

  3. Excited for another run today!

0:10 I am not a fan of all negative modifiers… I wish you luck on this run!

1:36 "not a huge fan of having three copies of that" draws all three warcry. The comedy writes itself.

3:58 You did not need the liquid bronze.

  4. Well, that was insane. Today's title is entirely right, I would have been drowned in Writhe. But I had so many curses and scaling cards that I wiped the Act II boss in the first round. Two thunderbolts and the Slaver elites went down. I don't play fast but today I got Light Speed. Shiny, Money Money, Collector (13), Pauper, Encyclopedian, Stuffed, Curses, Champion (6), Beyond Perfect, Overkill. Having a full set of potions and 3 x Disarm on first boss seems to be a differentiator.

  5. I love this kind of run. I got 1795 because I used the fountain to get rid of the writhes and presumably lost some curse combos. Guardian i couldn't perfect because of binary giving me non-defensive cards. Pauper was possible too but probably less fun.

  6. Ended with 1843, had troubles with first elites, but perfected all bosses, went heavily on strength build, also took Brimstone in a shop, saved strength potions, lots of vulnerable cards and heavy strikes and just counted on Gambling Chip and lucky RNG with pulls to end fights quickly, by the 3rd floor it was mostly 1st turn kills, even the last boss. I think I just got really lucky, ended with 17 collectors, mostly curses ofc. I didn't took Brutality cause even if I usually like it, 3 innate copies seemed like too much of a brick for starting hand, even with Gambling Chip.
edit: Also got luckier on the first boss with Disarm and Exhume pulls, so that helped a lot 😅

  7. 1820 – beyond perfect, 5/8 elites, 16 collectors. overkill easy, no combo.
I love ridiculous hoarder cursed runs! the writhes after the 1st boss worried me – but then gamba chip showed up, and then bag of P – its a beautiful thing. Still couldn't full block or kill turn 1 the slabers, but the rest were fine.
Run was pretty similar to yours, card selection differences was the main difference – also in the final shops, I didn't buy cards if I already had collctors on them – didn't want to flood the deck too much unless the card was really worth it – or if I had a mindblast which I didn't'. Fun daily!

  8. Got 1795.
I missed boss 1, got 16 collectors and missed pauper because of the boss relic, which was too good to pass.
I should have realised sooner that going for rares would get me more points.
Missed an elite because of the 3x innate curse, luckily i found the remove curse event few rooms after.
