I grew up in Gallup, NM. I heard about these stories in my youth. Many close friends and relatives saw them. Many of my Navajo or Zuni friends were very afraid of them. I have an open mind.
Man I would pay to watch a guy in late medieval suit of plate armour go hunting these "creatures" with both some kind of poleaxe & like AA12 shotgun or something – that perfect mix of wearable tank and high end mondern weaponry.
Clanking around yelling challenges in the bush lol beating the ever living crap out of monsters, the look of absolute confusion on their faces thinkng "WHAT IS THAT!?"… sigh if only would be great lol
Oh man the number of times I've said skinwalker etc. I must be dead a billion times over from going into the deep woods.. oh wait… And yes while in the company of a culture I'd respect it, but once outside it I'll have no issues at all for treating it like the superstitious bull crap it is.
The original skinwalkers were creatures summoned from another dimension during a conflict between the Utes and the Navajo. I forget which side summoned them, but the creatures quickly got out of control. Human skinwalkers have to preform a human sacrifice to get their powers. In most cases, skinwalkers don't actually hurt people physically, instead they prefer to psychologically terrorize them.
If people are turning into animals tell me where this is happening. I'm a hunter and have been in the woods over 25 years primarily in Michigan. Never seen people shape shifting into animals, no dogman, the woods don't always go quiet whenever there is a bear or wolves. Sometimes it's loud and other times it's quiet. I've seen some weird people, doing really Strange things but the rest is just fairly tales. But great entertainment
I believe these things are people who have become possessed by the demonic. Youd be surprised how demons can actually change people. Not the way Hollywood shows because Hollywood is well Hollywood.
Also if youve ever been around demon activity theres always a foul rotten flesh stench in the air

I don't know what these creatures are , but I do know the Bible has many stories about demons . In fact the miracle that Jesus did most was to cast demons out of people . The devil is real and has fallen angels under his control . I don't know what all of you here believe in or don't believe in . A thought came to me, I'm likely wrong but, something sparked the idea that they could be illusions or conjured beasts by witches and warlocks, in addition to the witches and warlocks, themselves.
It is hard to chalk all of the history of skin walkers accumulated over the years as some sort of myth. Native Americans have a very long history of them in their world. Other people have too after westward expansion in the USA. A cavalier attitude towards the supernatural is never a good idea.
They are 100% real I have seen them and I grew up in the woods for most of my life their screams are the most terrifying things in my life and I'm not scared of anything paranormal with they scared the living hell out of me

I love hearing stories of them but at the same time I fear them. You will never want to hear someone you know that is asleep to call you name to come outside, it's one of the worse feelings. Even hearing something like that calling for you and walking up on to the deck outside and staring inside to look at you, you can feel it's gaze on the back of your head.
