If you want true randomness, make sure Karmic Dice is disabled.
Otherwise it will skew the odds depending on whether you are on a streak or not.

You didn't notice, but Mol told the cops on Shadowheart when she was in a halfling disguise, thus describing her as a halfling, so when you ended her disguise she lost the "wanted" status. 😄
But somehow it got refreshed? Maybe a bug.. or you could assume they "figured it out eventually" and it's a feature. 😊
As for the theft, I think they only took some coins and the items that seemed missing was just what you sold.
And that locket, maybe dropping it on the table would have done something.

These NPCs seem ready to imprison anyone for anything at the drop of a hat… except when they're infected with mindflayer worms… then they just invite them into their most sacred sanctums to share all their secrets with.
