KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville mother Robin Howington, 41, was sentenced to serve 22 years in prison on Friday after she was convicted of multiple charges relating to her five-year-old daughter’s death.
The State asked for enhancement of Howington’s sentence based on 10 factors, one being her criminal history.
The father of Howington’s daughter, Antoine Oliver, was present in the courtroom and had one of the attorneys read his victim impact statement. At one point during the investigation, Howington told police he was the one who pulled the trigger.
Howington’s daughter was shot at a home in the 500 block of Balsam Drive on September 14, 2019. She later died after being taken to UT Medical Center.
During the trial, prosecutors told the jury that Knoxville police officers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call from Howington, in which she claimed that her daughter had been shot by a random stranger. Police began to be suspicious of Howington after she attempted to destroy her cell phone.

Why are you all so judgemental? You don't know what happened. Saying she doesn't look remorseful. How do you know she ain't? How do you know she hasn't cried herself to sleep so many times? Get off of your high horses people.
Sad Case😢😢😢
No not fair it was an accident I'm not saying that there shouldn't be some punishment but this is too severe for neglect that was an accident a five year sentence and 2 with parole would have been sufficient this is toooooo severe
She didn't not intentional harm her child she has lost her child she never raped beat starved her child or willfully committed murder this isn't fair
