Prehistoric peoples routinely camped near and in the mountains, seasonally, following resources such as herd animals.
And after riding through an area near the mountains on my motorcycle, I had to return because it reminded me of the ancient lakes and their shorelines I explore in the lower desert. This area felt like it had been a body of water at some point in the past and I thought it would be a good idea to explore where I thought the shoreline would have been. Turns out I was correct and I found plenty of evidence of prehistoric peoples from lithic debris all in the area such as flakes and also core stones…all for the production of projectile points.
In some spots the ground was covered in lithic debris! So I felt pretty good that I was in fact in an area where people had either had seasonal camps or kills sites. Fascinating!

Visitation to sites such as this should be done with the utmost respect. The artwork is not simply graffiti, it is a window into the past and it is culturally significant. Please take great care when visiting and observing these places.

Very enjoyable trip with magnificent scenery and a guest snake appearance. In my opinion, that one huge rough stone was definitely worked which leads to many possible uses, the primary one is cracking bones for the marrow. A couple of nice arrow head remnants and that one "out of place" stone, which fit perfectly in your hand and could have been easily used for throwing. That one circle of stones must have been an ancient transient camp site. Lots to think about. Muchas gracias por esta aventura. Adios for now.
Thanks again for taking us along!
