Scraping piece clean and broken bent piece at curve of shade

Hi Jim, the cleaning was a chore! There was a film like varnish, or maybe residue from being in a smoky environment. It had to be scraped clean, each piece.

The end of the video shows a broken piece I didn’t notice right away. I didn’t repair this piece because it is complex. The pieces along the curve were originally cut and then slumped in a mold in a kiln. So it requires a mold to be made, as well as the slumping. It will cost $200 just for this piece, the most expense being the creation of the mold.

There are several other pieces I didn’t replace because I thought they were discreet enough to not require replacing. Several were cracked close to a corner of a piece, and one was unnoticable. It took me several passes over the shade to finally notice it.
