Scottish cottage diaries – week in my life living on a Scottish island

Hello, I’m Caroline, I live in the Isle of Skye and welcome to my Youtube channel.

Join me for a week where on the surface didn’t look like there was much going on, but turned out to be really lovely!! Plenty of time pottering about my cottage (or is it puttering?) as well as swimming, time at the beach, baking, lunchtime treats and even a little night away! Life in the Scottish Highlands is extra sweet when the sun shines!

Carrot cake recipe is from this book: https://kitchencoosandewes.co.uk/products/recipe-book

  1. Caroline, I always say I didn't start a business of my own to work more hours and pay myself less. When you're off on your wanders and all you are thinking about is the worry of getting work done, you're not truly resting, and then it just becomes another form of work. Enjoy the sunshine, we don't get a lot of it and the work will get done in the end, it always does!

  2. We made a lil gravel seating area recently in the garden and we used black plastic edging round the edge to keep the grass out – it's pretty cheap, like £30 and it's hidden underground, looks pretty good! 🙂

  3. And that wee place in Dornie 😍. If only it were dog friendly I’d be moving in permanently 😂. Used to spend every year nearby at Ratagan & Letterfearn – gorgeous area ❤️. Didn’t often see sunshine like you’ve had recently 😂

  4. Such gorgeous footage captured on this vlog, as always ❤️ Sgiathanachs always know to drop everything when the sun shines! 😊 I was thinking perhaps a mirror above the headboard? Not a big one and maybe oval shaped to tie in with the curves of the headboard? 🤔

  5. Hi Caroline, I love your attitude to life, I can see you work really hard on trying to get the balance right and appreciate all the good things you have. I would like to support you by buying you coffee, but I can't see a support button. Can you help?
