Karens are insane, "Ugly" in the sense that the Ugly American meme largely consists of Karenism, Awful beings that must be stopped from doing anything because they will always hurt as many people as possible as badly as possible in the course of said inevitable crimes.

I'm surprised OP and the group hadn't kicked their "friend" out of the group before she had a BF! Maybe I'd let it slide until the second time she "forgot" money but the third time, we're getting separate checks and she needs to figure out how she's going to pay or not eat.

Last story: We teach people how to treat us… Consistently allowing someone to mooch off of you teaches them they can treat you shamefully and you will just take it. You can be generous without being a doormat. Learn the difference.

1st story – really scary. Good thing the older employee called the Police. Story 2 – How are these entitled people such idiots? The Karen attacked a person SITTING at a table and in no way dressed as a server. Her claim to respect their betters after ruining the lap top – Yes, she should have been arrested, not just sued. Story 3 – city inspectors can be useful in such situations. Story 4 – OP isn't the jerk. His friend and her boyfriend are. They could have brought SOMETHING to the pot luck. It's a situation in which EVERYONE brings something. She could have brought a bag of chips and some dip, or a few 2 liter bottles of soda. Her boyfriend then trying to take all the left over ribs is beyond the pale.
