Introduction：When the U.S. nuclear submarine Montana goes missing while tracking an unidentified object in the deep sea, Bud (Ed Harris), the foreman of the high-pressure submersible rig Heart of the Deep, receives orders to cooperate with Capt. Coffey (Michael Biehn) in a rescue mission. Surprisingly, along for the ride is Lindsey (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), an oil company engineer and wife of Bud, who has been having a falling out. The three-man rescue team dives to the edge of the abyss where the submarine disappeared, only to find that no one on board has survived, and that an unknown monster exists in the depths of the abyss. After a series of crises, Captain Coffey, against all odds, decides that this is a Soviet plot and decides to launch a nuclear bomb removed from the submarine at an unknown enemy, so Bud and Lindsey team up to fight to the death. In the nick of time, Bud saves Lindsey and dives down into the abyss to remove the fuses from the nuclear warheads. After completing his mission, Bud’s oxygen is depleted, and the monster of the deep reappears.

I don't know that's it calles but it is Liquid air, it can be Breathed in for 10 minutes but after that you will suffocate. I think even if you switch back to Normal Gas Air you still Suffocate because your lungs can't get the gas anymore

so you dont have that breathing refex and can suffocate without realizing if you're not making a conscious effort to breathe (edit: and using a pulse ox monitor)
