  1. Great video guys. What would you use for a lawn that is clay based? Just some topsoil? Thanks in advance? Would the drag mat be ok for that? Where would you get the mat from?

  2. With the levelling lutes, what width would you recommend? Garden approx 40-50sqm. 50cm, 80cm or 100cam? Does a larger lute make it easier and give better results, or does it just make it quicker for larger lawns?

  3. You don't top dress with sand! You use top dressing soil, using sand will damage the blades of the mower. You only top dress the likes of a bowling green for a better playing surface. The avarge lawn is about 50 square metres 90% of people would not have the tools or could even afford to buy the tools. If the lawn is not level it was not laid properly. Another way to level then lawn is to lift the turf and add soil to level it

  4. I was a plasterer and roughcaster for many years, I'm from Perthshire in Scotland, and we always just used local quarry sand that was used by us and the brickies, then I moved to London and experienced disasters trying to just use building sand. It's so full of clay there, and they sell "platering sand" separately, which is just washed sand that is really coarse, l hated it, it was a real learning curve, but long story short: I'm back in Perthshire, and our local building sand is fine for lawns…

  5. Looking well Robbie, looking fitter lately! Jason must be keeping you on your toes since joining!!
Quick observation, this is all well & good for smaller lawns, but very difficult & costly to work with a 1 acre lawn. The weather has caused some serious โ€˜bumpageโ€™ over the winter & itโ€™s looking like it needs a complete re-do at a cost of about โ‚ฌ5k! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

  6. Guys,
Great video, good banter. I have recently taken over a 1000 sqm lawn which has been mown historically with a mulching mower.
There is significant thatch and therefore bounce. Due to weather last year I never achieved a low enough cut to scarify. We are there now, I was going to spring Tine it then cut again, then treat it with a weed and feed. Iโ€™m not sure to then use the blade scarifierโ€ฆ.. thoughts?

  7. Really good video guys. Cause your both a wealth of knowledge, what the hell can I use to get rid of ants, but keep my lawn as perfect as you have taught me too?

  8. My lawn is super uneven with massive dips and mounds . Is it worth just dumping a ton of top soil on it to flatten or just dig the whole thing up and start again? I'm in London and the ground is full of clay.

  9. Any tips on lowering the complete lawn? I tried a pretty aggressive scarify, seems to work a bit. But I want the lawn about 6-8 cm lower.
