Firstly, I must thank Steven Brown who is a subscriber for his generosity giving me this excellent blend to enjoy. Thank you 🙏 About the pipe, I am so pleased with my 9mm Savinelli St Nicolas 606 that I decided to buy another gorgeous Savinelli 9mm, the Dolomiti 114 Rustic which is an elegant & classic designed straight billiard with a beautiful stem that matches the briar rustication perfectly.
As for the Maple Shadows ii, already after my very first bowl that I smoked in today’s video I can tell you it is most excellent Fire Cured Kentucky based blend. Smooth, well-balanced, complexed & rich with the various natural tobacco flavours. Most recommended.

Another beauty from Savinelli Nathan. I’ve a few myself now the latest being the Bings Favourite in smooth finish 6mm a longer pipe but smokes burleys and Virginias perfectly. Happy smokes Martin 😊
Great looking pipe Nathan👍 as for the maple shadows i like the sound of it but unfortunately no where to be found in stock 😢 i would need to catch up with you on that score😜 speak soon
Hey Nathan always happy to see u my friend hope all is well n love ur videos keep on
Hi Nathan, great video. I too have been enjoying a bit of this same blend. I managed to jar the majority of it but I treated myself to 2 oz. of it and it is good.
Similar to your pipe I opted to smoke this blend on my Savinelli Roma 127.
The aroma of maple is pleasant but not overwhelming when lit. The pleasantly light smokiness and a hint of something spicy, grassy and occasionally the cigar leaf smokiness mixes all very well. Somewhere halfway through the bowl the sweet maple disappears and the different tobacco leafs come forward.
Although I am enjoying these few bowls, with cellaring time this blend will be a joy to smoke next year.
I hope everyone is having a pleasant week, feliz humos!
Best,
Charlie
My dream pipe is the Savenelli Meile 316 KS. I keep dropping hints to my wife but she’s not having it. Lol
Someday maybe.
Glad you enjoy the blend Nathan. I agree with your assessment, it is very smooth with the maple not overpowering. The Savinelli line is by far my favorite pipes.
I'm not digging Maple Shadows….I have some Country Squire blends coming….looking forward to trying them!!
House keeping Capstan Blue 5 year age and just got it today my new Tsuge System Calabash tiny pipe with a big bowl really cool design ..next be my moonlights pipes
Enjoy Savinelli very much, just picked up the 2023 and 2024 St. Nicklas pipes. Love the Maple Shadows hope you enjoy. God bless you and yours 😊
Pipe is beautiful, I prefer the bent pipe but that stem is perfect on that pipe.
100% agree with you Maple Shadows by Sutliff is not truly an aromatic…but is a perfect blend for fall pipe smoking.
Both beautiful pipes. I really love savinelli. Not a huge aromatic guy but I do enjoy a good maple. I missed out on this one, but hope they don't again next year.
Great pipe. Do you know if it will take a standard 9mm filter like a Perlman cardboard filter ??? I see yours has the balsa wood filter installed. Thanks.
Such a cool looking tin. As you say, our tins here are awful, big silly warning, altered names to make them sound less attractive. Although it usually ends up in a mason jar in a drawer to be fair, but still, it would be nice to have what the yanks have over there!
Lovely new pipe as well, think I fancy a straight billiard next, but probably the sav 106, with the smaller bowl. Good to watch your videos as usual, thanks!
Hi Nathan, how many pipes is good for one day/ and how many you smoke? Thank you
