Sandraiders 2024 Special. 154 riders tackle 1400km of Paris Dakar tracks on '80s desert bikes

154 riders entered Sandraiders 2024 to experience riding on 1400km of tracks used in the legendary Paris-Dakar race during the eighties and nineties.
I entered on a Yamaha TT600 Desert racer alongside my son Charlie, on his Honda XR600R this year and in this video you get see what happens as we scramble through some of the greatest scenery Morocco has to offer over the 7-days the Sandraiders event runs for. Dunes, dust lakes, rocky passes, they’re all here!

  1. I thought it was a 52 minute video, but it only lasted 5 !
Such was my total absorption into the action, scenery and whole adventure. Wonderful. πŸ₯°
I felt so involved. The helmet cam and mic experience was like riding with you, as a non biker, and technically spot on.
The behind the scene's stories were so important to the whole event and just added to our enjoyment.
Thank you and Charlie so much for sharing it with us. πŸ‘

  2. Hi Harry I am not into bikes but I really enjoy these Sandraiders videos. I was wondering would you consider having a classic 80's Paris-Dakar livery with correct sponsor stickers etc put on your bike?

  3. What a pleasure watching these cool old bikes running through their habitat. Love my old 34L and RD07 for traveling, off road and commuting. Thank for taking us along and sharing all the information. Please keep it up, Harry and Charly!

  4. Thanks for these videos they are brilliant. I am the same age as you (Harry) and pretty fit but I think I would struggle getting round Sandraiders. Interesting point about heart rate when you are riding, burns a few calories!! You wonder why someone would want to use a heavy bike? Any bike is hard work on sand let alone something like a GA. I guess the trick is like Charlie said go as fast as you dare. Fantastic – more bike videos please and I hope the viewing figures go up.

  5. To those who love these videos but don't ride, what are you waiting for? You only live once, and motorbikes can give you ultimate freedom. Book a CBT (UK) and you won't look back.

  6. Hi Harry, as always another excellent video, thanks so much for featuring my XT 600 in first video, if I honest I wasn't sure what I'd make of you before I came, but I really pleased after few chats with you that you really are a true enthusiast and a genuine chap, so pleased, I already booked for 2025 and really hope you will be there again, cheers Dave Ratcliffe πŸ€™πŸ€™

  7. So I would never do this, I simply don't have the interest in old off-road bikes. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire piece, and would love to see more of these adventures on the channel if you decide to do them. Roll on Tunisia sounds like, please do another there.

  8. Harry and Charlie it's fantastic stuff as always even for the none offroad/bike rider. It's kinda snowboarding/surfing but up hill in the heat must be super cool experience to do it πŸ‘

  9. One of the advantages to being fit for an endurance sport like that is many mistakes can trace their beginning to the rider being tired and sitting in the saddle when they should be standing or their arms turning to rubber when the going gets tough and being fit puts that moment off.
