Throughout this easy online art lesson, you’ll learn fundamental beginner painting techniques to create movement, form, depth, good proportions, dimension and texture, including, blending, one brushstroke and scumbling in this fun and easy animal landscape art lesson. Canvas: 10×20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 3/4 inch flat bristle, #4 round synthetic #1 round synthetic
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, burnt umber (brown), deep yellow, fire red, purple violet, burnt sienna (rust)
Other: chalk, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 3/4 inch bristle brush – Paint base coat on canvas with white, yellow, rust, purple, black, brown
2. 3/4 inch bristle brush – Finish sky with white, yellow, rust, lavender (made in step 1), red
3. Chalk – Draw outline for rocks and lion
4. 3/4 inch bristle and #4 round brushes – Paint base coat for rocks and lion with black, white, brown, rust
5. 3/4 inch bristle brush – Finish ground with lavender, white, yellow, rust, brown, black
6. 3/4 inch bristle and #4 round brushes – Paint trees with brown, red, yellow, white, rust
7. #1 round brush — Paint small things with dark gray (made in step 4), lion brown (made in step 4), white, brown, yellow, rust
8. #4 round bush – Finish big rocks with black, gray, lavender, rust, red, yellow, white
9. #4 round brush – Paint dark stuff on lion with black, lion brown, white
10. #1 round brush – Finish lion with lion brown, white, red, yellow, rust
11. #1 round brush – Sign with lavender
