I'm not American and so I don't understand at all, WHY the decision to even put up a vote/an election about whatever topic – like in this case e.g. the continued aid for Ukraine – lies in the hands of A SINGLE POLITICIAN, who's the newly elected and likely still a bit inexperienced "Speaker of the House" Mike Johnson … isn't this highly unfair, very dangerous to America's security and also a contradiction to the basics of democracy in and of itself?
Just asking bc I really don't get it, how that's even possible.

I'm really not sure, what to make of his older republican politician's speech – sounds like he'd have preferred Biden to react to russia's invasion more decisively/goal oriented, meaning "Ukraine needs to get everything to win this war asap – but I'm generally having a hard time to decipher politicians speeches, (especially when they're in English instead of my native language, bc politicians are masters of saying a lot while actually saying nothing) and so I guess all I'm hearing here is purely my own wishful thinking.

I'm disabled (= very low income), however my government's constantly providing financial aid, similar to the well-known US "covid stimulus checks" and discounts for rent/heat/electricity bills to society's poorest people like me here, to the point of me getting a bit overwhelmed with the amount of mail I'm getting about this and all the forms, I've to fill out to receive said aid … so I'm highly motivated, to make it work out and the best of it; to be able to directly support Ukraine/the UAF monthly bc I'm very much aware, the West/US/Europe/Canada/Australia & other allies all together can't afford to lose Ukraine to Russia; that's all I can afford and do atm.
Pretty sure, it's similar in other western countries and the US – from where I took my "stimulus check" example, to make clear what I mean – so imo, there has to be an unintentional and/or unnoticed disconnect in the way, your current US government's selling their "aid for Ukraine package" to your own people; maybe they aren't pointing out enough, there's no crisis bc all/even the poorest Americans will get through these financially challenging times, NO PROBLEM … or maybe I'm wrong, bc it's hard to assess from here in Europe, if the poorest Americans are getting enough financial aid or not.

Whatever the case in the US with helping the poor to survive this, it definitely should be looked into thoroughly – cause as we all know, the opposition party has the constant huge advantage, to scream their criticism loudly into the disadvantaged people's ears, then when they get elected though, they won't do any better than the ruling party before them, bc in ppolitics criticism's generally a lot easier than ruling.
Admittedly in my case the reason for not wavering and being willing to take some unavoidable pain comes also from my family history, ideology and morals, stemming from the fact that my barely 17 year old dad together with his adult siblings had to flee from another russian invasion to the West in 1956, after "protesting & sabotaging" the russians advances … so of course it's very personal for me to support Ukraine's victory.

  4. Immediately, when I heard about the "protests" on the Dagestani airport, I thought:
"There're NO PROTESTS HAPPENING IN RUSSIA, without Putin's blessing and/or him straight up initiating them, facts!"

Except for the Dagestani protests against too many of their males getting drafted into the russian "army" to fight in Ukraine a few months ago – and back then, russia instantly sent their military with tanks there, to suppress said Dagestani "anti draft protests" – that's the difference, how to separate real protests inside russia from all the staged ones imo.
Just remember the protesters chanting "nuke Washington" in Moscow and/or St Petersburg, no tanks bc that's also been one blessed by Putin, bc it aligned perfectly with his fear mongering narrative/propaganda.

Omg, the sky over Crimea is stunningly beautiful!
Looks like the sky on photos of Bahamas beaches, Thailand and other similar seaside regions, gives me "vacation vibes" …. now I know, WHY russia wants this place so badly.

  6. Splitting the aid package is death to the UA aid bill. This bill is intended to cover aid to UA through the β€˜24 POTUS election & into β€˜25 to help UA no matter who is elected in β€˜24.
