Russia Furious: Almost all US F-4 Phantom Fleets is Deployed to Ukraine for Direct Strikes

Nearly the entire American F-4 Fleet is deployed to Ukraine, while others have noted that several ex-Soviet countries including and Poland and Bulgaria still have aging MiGs in their fleets which would make the handover smooth.

  1. The beginning of the video shows the remaining flyable F-4's that were being used for air targets, flying out to be used as ground targets.
Furthermore, the Russians cannot be furious of what the headline reads because there hasn't been any F-4's in the fleet for years, unfortunately

  2. Very strange! ALL the American F-4's were deactivated decades ago except for a few that were turned into QF-4's. Unmanned and shot down for practice. The only countries that use F-4's now are Iran and Japan. Maybe Israel but am not 100% on that. The plane, as much as I love it, can't outfight a MIG-17 let alone a modern fighter. If Ukraine gets some F-4's they must have gotten them out of various museums.

  3. I didn't even know the USA still had operational F-4's. Perhaps some in National Guard duty, but that is an old fighter-bomber. That plane was built in my home town and somewhere I have some beautify lithograph portraits of them that McDonnell-Douglas distributed. I know they built some damn fine aircraft out of St. Louis, Missouri in the 60's to the 80's. What I recall about the F-4 is that it was a great plane in the fighter bomber configuration, was somewhat lacking in dog-fighting skill as it was heavy, not configured for fast twists and turns and some variations lacked machine guns (which were still useful in dog fights at the time). But as fighter bombers they were wonderful being high powered in engines, built like tanks and able to carry a fairly large payload of bombs and missiles for that time frame. I would suspect if used to support troops in bombing operations after attrition of air defenses, they would still be very valuable.

  4. I love the Phantom, but they haven't been in the USAF's active inventory since 1996. We don't have a fleet to send to Ukraine, so there's no reason for Russia to be furious. I should make a video about Russia being furious that we're sending all of our remaining P-51s there, just to see how many clicks I get.

  5. There are no F-4E's at any base in North Carolina. The Fourth Tactical Fighter Wing (Tail code SJ) became operational with F-15E's in 1989. The 334th, 335th, and 336th hasn't flown an F-4E since . The 337th even stopped flying them.
