Pliny's descriptions harken to the future tales of the exotic and unknown…when I was a teen, word was that Chinese women are not like other women, their ahem was oriented side to side, not vertically like usual. Being the trusting type, I did not immediately refute that, but as I learned more about reproduction I realized this was unlikely.

When you realize that the Romans didn't know that what they were observing was nothing more than object poverty.

And last time I was in Nigeria my uncle was out and reported that some homeless guy turned another guy’s his wife into a baby…the dude went beZerk, and the homeless guy was like chill chill I’m sorry, to turn her back, put your finger in here (a bag or basket or some shit)… he calmed down, put his finger where instructed, AND HIS ASS DISAPPEARED out of thin air. At which point, the crowd that gathered, including my uncle, apparently broke out running.
What was really fucked up was when he was relaying what happened and saw how shocked and incredulous I was, he was smiling/laughing at me like the shit happens all the time…like laughing at how “naive” I was.
