  1. I love seeing players being able to fully separate their own feelings and desires from the character's. Most noteably here in Red and Sofia's semi-pvp playout. I really really hate watching D&D series where the players and even DM, consistantly ignore instances where characters would have no idea about event/activity x but still respond to it anyway.

  2. Thank god! I can finally release the breath I have been holding since last week. To think it was two weeks for the crew. Sophia clearly believes in the heart of the cards with the way her dice rolls are always narratively satisfying! And Noir's curse seems to have ended! I love this group so much.

  3. Wow
Frankly the best episode in the whole of the show so far as far as I'm concerned.
I came into this episode worried, and funnily enough I had a bloody RWD themed fucking dream in which on of the characters full on died.
With the content warning in place It ratcheted up the stress very high. Thankfully it was fine, but the rest of the episode held its emotional ground. It's hard for media to bring me tears but this episode did it multiple times, even once while laughing simultaneously.
Simply an incredible work, incredible episode on top of an incredible podcast.

  4. Vhas is really starting to grow on me! Cant wait to watch him continue to comedically butt heads with VRLA and get shreked in a 1V1 with Kyana. After they finish blending up all the mindflayers that is.

  5. Like many robotic characters, VR-LA has such amazing autistic energy and it really shows in this episode with the big conversation at the end. From needing things spelled out explicitly, to getting caught up in semantics, to trying to say the same thing as the person you're seemingly arguing with and just kinda talking past each other (something that happens with me and my other autistic friends a lot). Honestly just everything about it. I know that he's probably not intentionally being played to be autistic-coded, but as a fan who's on the autism spectrum, it's still nice.

  6. This episode is, for some reason, surpassingly good. I can't tell if it's the relationship the audience has built with the characters ~and~ the players, or the interplay between characters, or the comfort between the people at the table… It's so much that's so strong coming together here in a way that brings the story from a lovely bouquet, a mélange, to a gestalt that cascades backwards for **SEASONS**. This one hits different.

  7. I honestly did not get the sense at all that Dani was asking to be captain! 😆 My read was that she was looking for a clear sense of purpose. "It's about the Per Aspera, so let's get a consensus on what the Per Aspera is doing, on a macro scale, so we can base decisions on that."
