Most notably, Atletico players shook their heads in complete confusion, lost in what felt like someone else’s red fog, even with Atletico playing that horrific game on the other side.
In an excellent narrative twist, it’s Phil Foden of all people who sparks a lot. Yes, really: this academy-bred Manchester City flyweight Foden has such a neat technical presence, but here he becomes a nemesis, a banshee, in a game he has no other notable During the game, an angry character leapt into a pepper pit in the mind of the great Diego Simeone. Who knows, this might even turn into a pivotal Foden night for right or wrong reasons.
We know he can play, even though he’s marginalized here, constantly on the move, never backing down, like a bandaged head trophy.
Instead, he did something else. Find a way to not only really, really, really piss off Atletico Madrid, but drag City to the bottom in a game they’re dying to finish.

On top of that, Foden completely freaked out Simeone, and he wandered around in the final minutes of stoppage time, clapping oddly, nodding, laughing horribly and, frankly, looking a little crazy.
It started with some defensive desperation. City were still tied 1-0 as time passed, Foden started a long chase from the defensive end and took the ball to the corner flag before being brought down by Felipe, who was inside him One leg is left.
At this point, enter: Chaos. Felipe was sent off for a challenge and got a second yellow card. Stefan Savic was also booked, but apparently not for a very obvious headbutt. Jack Grealish has a piece where his hair is pulled due to his problems.
