Rocky Washed Out Mojave Road – Epic Trail Nevada California Vintage Overland Adventure in a VW Bus

Day 1 & 2 Mojave Road. The adventure starts on Hwy 95 in Searchlight Nevada, Fuel Stop. It was only a few miles from the Mojave Road trailhead. This Trail/Road was washed-out from the winter storms we had. Challenging for a 2-wheel drive VW Bus :o) At the powerline crossroads, I headed up the old Mohave route to Fort Piute. I explored the area of the 1800s fort. That is an amazing place to visit. So I heard of some ancient 1000-year-old Native Petroglyphs, so I want to adventure out into the desert to find them. Being Rattlesnake season, I processed with caution. They’re the coolest thing I’ve ever seen out in the wild, I viewed hundreds of them. I ended the video with a good salad dinner and a lonely campfire. (I need to get a Dog) :o)

My channel is all about the adventure in a 1950s VW Bus. Camping, Overlanding,
Vintage Gear, and Campsite reviews to historical finds along the way. Weekly Adventure –
On Wednesdays Folks, 11:05 am PT (Los Angeles) Overland/Off-roading Video
and/ or Bus Upgrade / Improvement, Installs to the Bus Video. Bi-Monthly –
Restoration, Maintenance, and others on Sundays. I’ll throw in a Coleman
Lantern Light up from time to time also. Only a couple of these a month.
Sometimes both could be one of each or both the same.

  1. Old VW bus…alone…washed out deep rutted backside of Fort Piute. Keep em coming! One of the best memories I have was when my girls and I camped out near Fort Piute. We had Coyotes howling, millions of stars in the sky and a local A.M. station playing Native American tribal songs.
