  1. Anaconda was/is my top favorite creature feature, I owned and watched the crap out of that tape. The first movie I saw where two people of color survived the entire movie while the only white person to live only made it because he was comatose and missed the climax? I was there for that. Vought always did a great job of skeeving me out, and Danny Trejo's cameo at the beginning always pumped me up even if he was the cold open kill.
The sequels though, I only ever watched once and pretty much forgot about.
And Lake Placid!! I mostly remember that I watched at a drive in movie and absolutely only remembered Betty White treating the crocs like her pets, and just that was enough to give it a place in my heart.

  2. I haven’t seen Anaconda since I was a child, but I believe that there may have been intent for the rapper turned actor to not fit the stereotype. Something all too common for Black actors, or rappers doing an acting role has involved them being typecasted. To which Ice Cube has shown some flexibility throughout his acting career.

  3. "Lake Placid" fucking rules, in that weird way, because it is a wacky comedy about 4 great well-written fun character archetypes bouncing off each other, and the croc stuff is weak. Whilst "Anaconda" is about dumb, unlikeable cutouts and a fun monster. Great double bill
Oliver Platt's performance lives in my mind rent free

  4. Everything you said about Anaconda is exactly why I love it so much. That film was my introduction into creature features and as far as my rose tinted glasses are concerned it is untouchable.

  5. I actually saw Anacondas Hunt for the Blood Orchid first, and for a while I thought it was the only Anaconda movie until I found the original. Although I do enjoy the original movie still, I completely understand why some would say the sequel is better.

  6. I actually liked Lake Placid. Betty White was great. But watching it again makes me realize the only good parts of it are the end. I legit had no idea it had so many sequels, ive never seen any of them

  7. If you do choose to go ahead with doing a part 2 for Anaconda, which was literally the first movie I watched on big screen, do mention that ANACONDAS DON'T EXIT IN SOUTH EAST ASIA 🤦🏻‍♀️
