My fav is lake placid , but anaconda is always a pleasure thing to watch
I won't lie– Anaconda: Hunt for the Blood Orchid is a guilty pleasure of mine 🤡🤡🤡
I have a soft spot for lake placid lol
Anaconda was/is my top favorite creature feature, I owned and watched the crap out of that tape. The first movie I saw where two people of color survived the entire movie while the only white person to live only made it because he was comatose and missed the climax? I was there for that. Vought always did a great job of skeeving me out, and Danny Trejo's cameo at the beginning always pumped me up even if he was the cold open kill.
The sequels though, I only ever watched once and pretty much forgot about.
And Lake Placid!! I mostly remember that I watched at a drive in movie and absolutely only remembered Betty White treating the crocs like her pets, and just that was enough to give it a place in my heart.
please….do the sequels!
I'd love to see you tackle The Divide (2011)
I watched Anaconda when I was like 4-5 years old, on TV, and it traumatized me. I used to dream the snake would come to my kindergarden and devour me.
I haven’t seen Anaconda since I was a child, but I believe that there may have been intent for the rapper turned actor to not fit the stereotype. Something all too common for Black actors, or rappers doing an acting role has involved them being typecasted. To which Ice Cube has shown some flexibility throughout his acting career.
"Lake Placid" fucking rules, in that weird way, because it is a wacky comedy about 4 great well-written fun character archetypes bouncing off each other, and the croc stuff is weak. Whilst "Anaconda" is about dumb, unlikeable cutouts and a fun monster. Great double bill
Oliver Platt's performance lives in my mind rent free
Anaconda is the reason I'm paranoid around large bodies of water. I know there can't be an anaconda in the pool!!… But what if there is?!😬
I remember Anaconda and think about it a lot. Never realized there was more than one. It is what gave me my fear of snakes when I was younger actually.
Minute 3:32 venezuela VIVA LA PATRIA
Another thing that came out of Lake Placid is an amazing animatronic croc.
Please cover the sequels!! They're so bad and fun to watch when trashed and need some horror/action that is actually satire/comedy
there was also "king Cobra" (1999) which makes Anaconda look like a masterpiece.
I think both aren't "good movies" but fun to watch. 90s did that well for better or worse. Now we just have bad movies.
I actually unironically love Lake Placid. The sequels are shit and the first one isn't necessarily perfect, but it has a certain charm to it.
Anaconda is South Africa's most watched movie.
Everything you said about Anaconda is exactly why I love it so much. That film was my introduction into creature features and as far as my rose tinted glasses are concerned it is untouchable.
The crossover between them is ridiculous, terrible and outstanding 😂
Hunt for the blood orchid is objectively better
I actually saw Anacondas Hunt for the Blood Orchid first, and for a while I thought it was the only Anaconda movie until I found the original. Although I do enjoy the original movie still, I completely understand why some would say the sequel is better.
Man….these movies were my guilty pleasure horror movies…so schlocky and camp.
I actually liked Lake Placid. Betty White was great. But watching it again makes me realize the only good parts of it are the end. I legit had no idea it had so many sequels, ive never seen any of them
If you do choose to go ahead with doing a part 2 for Anaconda, which was literally the first movie I watched on big screen, do mention that ANACONDAS DON'T EXIT IN SOUTH EAST ASIA 🤦🏻♀️
Lp
Lake Placid is far from awful.
Both of these movies are terrible.
I freaked out when you mentioned Deep Rising, I was hoping you’d say that but I didn’t really think so….it’s like my favorite movie
2 of the best movies ever made
Id love to see you cover Wrecked it's a sleeper ne one talks about it or has heard about it
Anaconda redeems itself with the scene where it catches the guy falling down the waterfall and the perspective shot inside its throat when it eats John Voight.
What are you talking about?! The 90's were the best… well some of em. We had peak animatronics, and no amount of money thrown into cgi can ever compare to well done, physical effects.
