Reviewing a FOUR STAR HOTEL & PUB! WAS it GOOD?

Today, I’ve taken a trip down to Surrey and in particular, the Percy Arms which is a four star hotel but also a Pub & Grillhouse located in Chilworth near Guildford. I’ve been interested in going here for a while so it’s finally time to find out how good it is. Lets give it a go!

  1. Subscribed πŸ‘. Fantastic videos and been watching your whole back catalogue. Went to London with a friend a few months back to the Regency Cafe. What was better for you, there, or Pelliccis Cafe? Keep the great reviews coming!

  2. Welly brigade & dogs would make this a no-go for me. I imagine it to be like The Weyside, Guildford; lovely pub and food, but dogs allowed in eating areas, on chairs etc. Really worth including this sort of thing in the reviews for those who can't stand eating with dirty dogs around them.

  3. Obviously good food but in my books over priced!!! It's a pub fgs, not a 5-star Michelin…Β£8 for a soft-boiled egg in raw mince..yuk…the steak did look pukka but not Β£32 pukka..Β£45 for that meal and a very small portion of chips is a Β£30 max…another poncy boozer…fur coat and no knickers meal

  4. That's another really great video – 'a GOOD 7 out of 10'….so that's looking towards an 8 rather than a 6 – they are very fair reviews. Always lots of positive comments in your videos wherever you go.
Almost at 70,000 Subscribers now – I said before Xmas that you'd reach 100,000 Subscribers by the end of 2024…….well, you'll reach that way, way before the end of the year ! Congratulations to you both for such a great entertaining and informative Channel.

  5. Morning Gary!
It's got me wondering about the cameraman. Does he eat before you tuck in, or does he share with you off camera? I struggle not to get hungry watching on screen let alone being opposite you. It must be torture! Really enjoying your videos mate.

  6. You really are a forgiving gentleman! 5/10 for the steak factoring in the price, chips add 1, then 1 off for the stingy portion. Starter, another deduction. 4/10. That's before the barking dog!

  7. Sometimes its better to stick to the traditional methods and just do it good rather than messing around with something trying to be clever with the result being the complete what we see on that plate, that twist on a Scotch Egg just did not look one bit appetising, the meat looked disgusting, (In general any minced meat should be cooked throughout and not served rare as minced meats can harbour bacterias more easier than fresh cuts of meat) even the egg yolk didn't seem right, That said the steak did look succulent and delicious but shock horror we seem to have a Tom Kerridge moment on our hands here……those chips looked absolutely yummy but for goodness sake give us a decent portion, yes they were chunky but I think there should be at least 2 to 3 times the amount, I thinlk you are correct about the Peppercorn sauce, no need for it with that steak since it already has the glaze but I would have still ordered it to dip my chips in, overall the pub and grounds looks like a lovely place to have a meal and a couple of pints, I just wouldnt order the scotch egg , If I was rating the place on the whole (minus that egg) I would give it an 8 out of 10 (minus 2 for the lousy portion of chips) certainly my kind of place…..thanks again Gary, another enjoyable review, cheers Gav.
