  1. Not an old vehicle story, but a few days ago I was driving on the TransCanada Highway in Nova Scotia and I see a blacked out Ford Explorer with a light bar behind the front windshield and a Chevrolet Tahoe. Also blacked out. I thought it was the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, but no. It was just some everyday people. The wheels were not even steel.

  2. Excellent seeing that thing get a new lease on life! If you need any assistance on equipment history, feel free to hit me up. We've got the largest collection of CHP vehicles aside from the highway patrol themselves

  3. I once met a CHP commissioner on a movie set in British Columbia his name was maury Hannigan and he was doing a cameo for wrongfully accused, he was very intrigued by the fact that California 99 and 97 run all the way up into Canada

  4. I miss those CHP Inspection stickers!
As a kid I remember the CHP would post up on a street and pull cars in to check Lights, Turn Signals, Tires and Registration.
When you passed inspection, you'd get the sticker placed in the lower corner of the windshield on the drivers side.
Now the Inspections are only done for Commercial Vehicles and the sticker is placed in the lower corner of the windshield on the passenger side.

  5. The CHP is the largest STATE law enforcement agency in the country.

But they are not the second, third, or even 4th largest law enforcement agency in the county.

NYPD is the largest with 33k officers

    Chicago has 12k

LA County Sheriff has about 10k

    LAPD has 9k

CHP has about 5500 sworn members.

There are other departments with more sworn members than the CHP.

CHP just happens to be the largest state agency in the country.

  6. Cool that you scored some time period & old school parts from them ,its getting harder to find time period parts ,i got a extensive time period parts collection of NYPD lights, full lightbars ,sirens, brackets & mounts as well as the radio equipment from the 80's- 90's as well as lights from the 50's thru early 2000's, alot of the film production & movie car facilities buy ,rent or sometimes borrow lights or equipment from me ,chances if you seen a old police car 🚔 in a flick or TV show, it might be my lights on it

  7. At first I was thinking “how the hell am I gonna sit through a 31 minute video of a old suburban?” Then when they were saying their salutations, I’m like “Noooooo! That can’t be it!” As an old lightbar collector, I enjoyed the equipment in the shop. Great video!

  9. First time on your channel this is freaking awesome!!! As I said first time here so the question may have been asked. Are there any pictures from the old CHP magazine? I don't know when the magazine was started or if it still exist but it would be great if there was a copy with this in it.
