It's an unpopular opinion to like this game's artstyle.
But I like it too! It's like a recreation of the original sprites in a more stylized form. This really does feel like the true Monkey Island 3, doesn't it?
The Monkey Island games did have their highs and lows, so it's great to see it end strong, if we're to believe that this is the last in the series. And yes, I do hope the remasters of 1 and 2 also make it over, but with one major overhaul: the awkward interface. The one they had makes certain puzzles near impossible to complete, especially on consoles.
The art style reminds of an child art box. And also I believe that the Creators was like “ok we see enough point & click it’s time to make an really good one again.”
They should've re-released Tales of Monkey Island on the Switch. The game was made with Wii controls in mind so it would've worked great with the Joycons.
To, me this was probably the weakest Monkey Island. Would probably rank them like this: 1. Curse (9/10) 2. Tales (9/10) 3. Revenge (8/10) 4. Secret (8/10) 5. Escape (7/10; would've been 8/10 without Monkey Kombat) 6. Return (6/10)
Nice review! Any chance you’ll play/review Omori?
Me am fan you
I also really enjoyed this game for the exact same reasons

It is weird when you review a good game
This game kinda reminds me of the Humongous Entertainment games. Do you think you'll ever review those games on the Switch?
I should play this series some day, really looking forward to this one or the first game but i guess i have to start in the beginning.
